McKay went mountain biking with Stacy (Michele's neice)in the bush and has really enjoyed it. I am truly in love with the country and the scenery. It has been lightly raining and it's definitely Fall here. I am so enjoying how beautiful it is.
Today we are going to the ocean and having lunch. It is the last day that Donna D and Heidi S. will be with us. We are so enjoying this trip. As International guests they have truly made us feel so welcome. They gave us gifts for coming last night and even gave us a KIWI stuffed animal (bird) and KIWI POO (it was chocolate covered raisins). I am horrible at pronouncing the names of all the cities and the volcanoes here. ha!
So today is all about sightseeing and enjoying this beautiful time and place with my daughter. My heart is OVER joyed. I felt such a connectiion here with the women. The girls from NZ and Australia. They are truly special and I gained so much more than I'm sure gave them. I love teaching and sharing my passion and WHY I document and why I feel it's so important to be YOUR family and personal historian.
I am finally on NZ time. I slept 7 hours last night and I feel GREAT!!!!!! We have been at the hotel and today are going to stay at Maggies home until we leave. She also taught at the event. I adore her and know we will be friends well beyond this event. I truly hope to come back again. I told the Michele and Jodi that I can't WAIT to come back.
PS... I miss my family. I really appreciate Ty being the best dad and husband. I love that McKay and I have a couple of days to be together here. This is a special time for us.
