CHA is now almost over by a week and now I am preparing to go visit and teach at some amazing stores. I am headed South... yes, I am going to teach brand new workshops in Fredericksburg, Virginia on March 1st and 2nd and Cummings, GA March 8th and 9th. I will be at The Scrapbooking Studio in Bloomington, IL on February 8th.
I have been wanting to try to teach more on the East Coast. I want to support all my independent stores. Since I live in Utah it is tricky to get the time needed with long flights and a busy family and business to run. However, I make the time to teach because it's so important to me. I am so passionate about teaching and sharing my story. If by sharing... I inspire others to craft, create and remember/document then I have done what I love most.
I share on my blog from my heart and I love the opportunity to visit the stores and meet the fabulous crafters who support the stores and events. I love to meet the teachers at the stores. These stores are such a vital part of the crafting industry. Each store has to sell a lot of paper to cover the expenses each month. They are the ones who are offering workshops and classes and on going inspiration. I am humbled and blessed to be asked to attend these events. If we do not support our stores they will go away.
I am so fortunate to be close friends with many of the store owners. I want to support them and encourage each of you to do the same.
So today I can announce my next three BRAND NEW workshops. Here are my upcoming workshops and where I will be teaching with my new lines:

About Brett-
I have been crafting since I was young. It wasn't until about 10 years ago that I really took crafting serious. I noticed a position with a local craft store teaching classes and designing projects for them. I applied for the position, and I got it. I started teaching scrapbooking classes-anything from scrapbook to card making, to home decor to altered mixed media. I continued to work for them and they asked me to start working with them when they would go to conventions, I would teach the classes to the people at the conventions. In addition to teaching classes, I did bi-weekly t.v. spots on one of the local t.v. stations. I kept up doing classes, t.v. spots, in store demonstrations, and videos on youtube until 2010. I decided that I wanted to focus my efforts on starting
www.1craftyguy.com and things took off for me with my site. I continue to teach classes at local scrapbook stores, and I love working with people. I consider it my "natural high." I love teaching people about crafts.
I have crafted in many mediums, but my most favorite is altered art. I love to design books, and cards. I love stamping and I love making my own stamps. I'm an avid Cricut user, and I like making interactive things in my art. My style of design is a clean, crisp style. I'm not so much into grunge. I love the crispness that Teresa Collins Designs constantly displays, and I love using color in my projects.
Here are a few of Bretts projects with the new collections.
