I am home enjoying being with my family. I LOVE this time of year. Having my kids home all day is my FAVORITE thing. Yesterday, I filmed the segment with Good Things Utah. You can watch it HERE.
Marti (one of the co-hosts) told me that a HUGE storm was coming in. So I was really worried about it- so we headed right to the grocery store to stock up on food. Warning: Do not take a group of HUNGRY kids with you to shop. YOU will walk away with a bunch of stuff that you probably will not need or find of much nutritional value!!!!!
Although I have a BIG deadline for CHA- oh, nothing like last minute additions- my girls asked if we could have a girl's lunch date!!!! So Gentry, McKay and Hannah (Gentry's college roommate) and I went to my FAVE Cafe Rio!!!!! Yes, I am still doing Weight Watcher's. In fact, it is just about my favorite "lifestyle/diet" plan of ALL TIME! It's easy to do and POINTS PLUS is really EASY to follow and enjoy! I have lost weight- broke a plateau and feel REALLY healthy. I hadno Christmas gain this year!!!! (I know this was a FIRST for me!!!!)
So last night, a HUGE big NASTY Blizzard hit UTAH. I mean it shut us down. I was not able to drive home and had to stay at a friend's house for several hours. Finally, Ty came to my rescue and came and picked me up. He knows I am the WORST snow driver!!!! I get so scared and drive really slow because I tend to panic. I felt so much gratitude to be HOME last night (finally) and to be surrounded by my family. It was so bad that it took Taylor TWO 1/2 hours to drive home from work in the storm. It is normally a twenty minute drive! Then Gentry was downtown SLC and slid off the road. She was so scared that she started crying and called her dad to come get her. It took Ty over an hour to drive a mile to rescue her.
I took this PHOTO today of my front door- so THANKFUL that I finally was able to make it home late last night!!!!
ANYWAY....
It really made me THINK about how things like a STORM can put LIFE puts WHAT REALLY MATTERS...into Perspective.
What matters most?????
Oh, my heart is so GRATEFUL for US... that we are a family and that we have each other. Thankfully Ty is the SUPERSTAR dad and husband in that he is always willing to take care of us! Poor guy is shoveling snow non-stop and never complains!!!!
LIFE is GOOD... oh, so GOOD!!!!!! Nothing matters more to me than my sweet family. As a mother, I could not stop worrying about Taylor & Spencer and Gentry knowing they were caught out in the snow. I prayed and prayed to Heavenly Father to watch over and protect them. I am so thankful for answered prayers-
Today, it is starting to SNOW really hard again- and I have not left my house all day!!!! I'm not complaining because I love it. It sometimes MAKES you slow down (when you can't leave your house)... and you can spent TIME together.
I opened my back door and this is my grill covered with snow. I am sure we got more than a foot of snow in the past day!!!!
It is cold and snowy...but it is BEAUTIFUL!
A great day to stay home, watch Hallmark movies with my kids, make hot chocolate ... and be TOGETHER!!!!!
