I am sharing this with you too...
On Friday, my daughter Gentry and I went shopping together. She wanted a shirt that had flowers on it for the Fourth of July, but she felt that it wasn't worth the price they were asking for it. When we got home Gentry.... started pulling out some fabric, a shirt, and thread and had decided to make her own shirt.
Here are the instructions of how to make your own fabric flower shirt like her-
Go to any Walmart, Target, Shopko, etc. and pick up a V-neck T-shirt. If you get them in the mens section you can get 5 for $11.00 or about $2.00 each.
She found an old t-shirt that they did not wear anymore for the flower part of the shirt.
Cut about 1 1/2" wide strips from the fabric t-shirt.
The strip should be around 12" depending on how big you want the flower to be.
Sew one end of the strip onto the shirt where you want the center of the flower to be. From there you sew it in circles around that center area.
Here is the first flower finished. Make sure that it is securely sewn onto the shirt.
Taylor decided she liked Gentry's shirt so much that she made one just like it. Here she is sewing on some jewels from my NEW embellishment collection. YOU SEE IT FIRST TODAY!!!! If you love bling and shine...you will love my collection coming out at CHA S.
The final step is to sew some stripes coming out from the flowers to add just a little more pop. She wanted to do RED and BLUE for the Fourth of July.
Here Gentry is wearing her shirt at the Fourth of July parade.
The flowers can be used on more than just shirts. SO you see ANOTHER big sneak peak again of a new paper collection- and the jewels that I am using on EVERYTHING. Hurry up CHA!!!!! Here I used that same shirt and made some flowers to put on my layout. It really makes it pop. I threaded the word YOU using red thread to tie in the red throughout the layout.
I hope you liked this idea and feel inspired to go and try it for yourself! It is easy and fairly fast to do.
Also, a reminder my Scrapbook Royalty chat will be JULY 8th (oops not August 8th)...come join in on the fun!!!! PS my boys are HOME...and I lost 1.4 at weigh in today. Woo Hoo!!!!!
