I had a wonderful birthday with my family and my baseball family. My sons Ty and Zach played four games in Heber, Utah. It is the Tournament of Champions. Ty's team did so well but they did not win enough games to go to the Championship games today. The worst thing happened today. Our pitcher was hit in the side of the head (direct big hit) and immediately collapsed on the mound. It was so horrible to watch and immediately I prayed for Matt to be okay. He let out a cry that was heart wrenching. His father is a coach and raced to his side. He soon was surrounded by coaches. They got him up and he stumbled and you could tell he was not doing well. He was then rushed to the ER room. We were tied at this point and our team was so concerned for THEIR friend and teammate that we lost in that final inning. They realized what was most important. Every player and parent was so concerned with how Matt was doing. In all my years of baseball and seeing players get hit by balls and injuries this one was the worst. He was given a CAT scan and hearing tests, vision tests and everything checked out okay. He was hit in the EAR and the ear was swollen and he felt dizzy and had numbness in his left side. However, he seems to be doing okay. I know it was a miracle and I am giving thanks to the Lord that he is going to be alright.
Zach's team won both games and will play in the Championship games tomorrow. I hate to miss this. Gentry and I are headed to Chicago in a couple of hours. I plan to blog and post from CHA every day to keep you updated.
Today, I wanted to share with you a project that Camille made. She is on vacation in Australia and still found the time to make this amazingly creative project-
HOW TO by Camille:
I started to some of that metal construction tape... I don't think I have the name right. It's a strip of long metal about an inch wide with holes drilled in it, generally used to secure pipes in the crawl space. It's available at most home improvement stores, and cheep.
I then cut semi circle scallops from the remaining patterned paper and attached them to the outside of the metal tape, added a cream decorative boarder, and a metal Memorie Makers Baroque Thick Moulding Strips.
pattern paper: Teresa Collins FREESTYLE collection
Isn't she inspiring???? Thanks Camille for sharing your project!!!
