I think you are so talented!!!!!
One of the things that I see over and over in her project is MEANING and her heart. You can FEEL the love. It correlates with the TC BLOG post today. Stephanie showed and talked about how SCRAPBOOKING MATTERS. It does!!!! Steph and I were on SKYPE yesterday and I know that I was drawn to her as a friend because of her heart. I soon realized she scrapbooks from her heart too. She is in love and passionate with LIFE and her blessings. I hope you get a chance to visit the blog and read the post.
I also have tons of photos to edit from last night. I took over 200 photos but have it down to a little over 100 now. I held back crying as I watched Gentry dance in the Senior dance. This was her last time dancing in High School. The funniest thing happened, if you are a drill parent, you know that at the end of all the competitions they do a DRILL DOWN with all the girls from all the various teams. It's drill moves and you have to listen to the commands and do it without any hesitation. The commands are like MARCHING, hand salute, right turn, left turn, about face, etc. They get faster and faster. If you mess up, you immediately leave the stage. Well, SURPRISE...they asked all the girl's DAD's to come to the gym floor. The dad's were surprised but they had no idea what they were in for. The girls dad were wearing suits and ties, since they had escorted the daughter's at the first of the night in an introduction ceremony. The dad's soon realized they were going to do the drill down. It was SO FUNNY! I was impressed that he could do the moves. Now I guess I know where the girl's get their dance skills from.
Around twenty dads began. Gentry and McKay's dad, Robert was making no mistakes. They got down to 5 dad's remaining and he was one of them. We are all cheering and laughing in the stands. I was sitting with Robert's wife now and step children...(all is good and we have a wonderful relationship!!!!) and we are all amazed he is doing so well. Then it got down to TWO...and he is making NO mistakes. (Now this is not an easy task when hundreds of people are watching you and you have NEVER done this EVER!) Robert and the other dad are neck and neck and then the other dad makes a few mistakes. So the girl's got to see their dad win the drill down and get a little gift certificate. WHAT melted me- yes, you know how emotional I am, was on the drive home last night. The girls were changing costumes when some girls yelled to my girls, "YOU have to go out and watch your dad, he is winning the drill down." The girls told me how much it meant to them that HE came, HE performed and HE did it because he loves them!!!!!! I don't talk a lot about my ex here because we have both moved on, both been remarried and WE are and have always been friends. I am so thankful for moments like last night- I know the girl's will never forget this special night!!!
So excited... ROAD TRIP today... I LOVE long drives in the car. I would rather drive over fly any day. We have baseball in St. George and I can't tell you HOW happy this makes me. I have books to read and artwork to sketch. I am a happy girl.
