It's Saturday morning and I'm feeling pretty PUMPED. Yes, I KNOW what needs to get done. I have decided to take a little CREATIVE break. Yes, I am giving myself most of today- to NOT even think about anything creative. HA! Not sure this can be done. I have a confession- when my house needs to be organized than I don't feel as CREATIVE. Well, for me I think it is because I design and create entirely from my home. I even design at my KITCHEN table on the main level of our house. I sketch out all my thoughts and designs at either my kitchen table or my favorite CHAIR.
However, when I am feelings like the house is needing some TLC then my CREATIVE MOJO just can't concentrate. Just ask my family...I will say, "Time to help me clean up all the chaos so MOMMY can feel creative!!!!"
With a large family, it's a daily event to try to keep a house a home and not a look like a gym, sports center, or fast food dive. Do you kids leave their sports stuff everywhere? Or leave their clothes on the ground??? Or maybe do they forget to clean up after themselves when they make a snack or meal? Tell me that I am alone.... No matter what- YES, my kids have to help me clean- ultimately, most of it falls back on me. I am the MOM and I love this- most of the time-wink!
Another confession- Ty drives me crazy this time of year. I mean it's TAX season and he has 1/2 of our kitchen as his little section to do his accounting and receipts. He has papers everywhere that no one can touch. He has to get them all prepared for the accountant. I look at the paper everyday and beg him to get it done. Ty tells me that "he is working on them."
Have you figured out NOW that I am really anti-clutter? If you have, then you now know that I'm kinda funny that way. So Saturday's are the day that I like to tackle the clutter build up and start fresh- hopefully with a clean home.
SO here is my BIG QUESTION for you- What do you do to organize ALL your SCRAPBOOK projects and layouts that you create????
So I found some tips to help ME and maybe you-
This is from ORGANIZE.COM
One hour. Eight tips. One clutter-free life. Eliminating clutter doesn't have to be a drawn out process. Tackle this list - and reduce the clutter in your life.
Getting rid of clutter doesn't have to be a long,
drawn out process. You can complete this entire list of clutter -
reducing projects in an hour or less.
- Toss 10. Grab a trash bag. Find ten items in
your home that you no longer need or want and put them in the bag.
Toss the bag in the trash or put it in your donation box, and never look back. - Clear a surface. Find at least one cluttered surface, like a coffee table or dresser top, and completely clear it of all clutter, swiftly dumping any trash.
-
Toss old magazines. Go through your home and gather any old magazines or newspapers you've already flipped through.
Recycle or donate them today.
- Weed out 5. The thought of weeding out your entire filing system may seem daunting, but anyone can weed out just 5 file folders.
- Pick through a junk drawer. Whatever you can't identify or is clearly junk (meaning you'll never use it) gets tossed.
- Toss anything expired. Go through your fridge and medicine cabinet, gathering anything perishable that has expired. A good day to do this is on garbage day, so you can hand off what you've collected to the trash collector.
- Dump junk mail. Quickly go through your pile of mail and dump anything that is clearly junk mail.
- Put things away. While carrying a large shopping bag with handles, go through your home putting at least 8 things that are not in their correct place in the bag. Then, deliver those items to their proper homes
Here to to a GREAT Saturday
trying to get more clutter free-and organized!!!!!!
