I have a child who has always loved to draw. She loves to look at something and sketch it. It has been something that as a young girl that she just simply enjoyed doing. Now- she is 17 years old and contemplating a career in "something creative." Gentry has decided to look into some type of art or graphic art degree. She really has no idea if this is what she will end up studying... but yesterday she came home with this. An assignment for her art (painting) class:
She has posters of her artwork on her bedroom wall. So I asked her if I could share a couple.
This piece has meaning to Gentry. It is a one of her favorite quotes and she wanted to incorporate it into a art piece. This one was sketched with pencil. Now as her mom, I love that she has this as a constant reminder of NOT IF but WHEN life get's tough... you can PRAY.
This is an older piece. She just likes to draw... one of these days I hope she will start scrapbooking. I hope we can get MORE young people (girls and boys) sharing their life and stories- I am thankful for the journals I kept as a young me. Being creative in any form or fashion is something I hope that we can share with others- especially our children.
