I am home from filming the segment, and wanted to share the project and the PDF of the GRATITUDE book. Please go to my website at www.teresacollinsdesigns.com today to download the PDF of the book visuals and instructions. I wanted to do a book to show not only my GRATITUDE but each member of my families feelings of thankfulness. I used my DAMASK and Journal-it Collections with clear acrylic Zutter covers to create the book.
We did this two nights ago as a family. I will CHERISH this book forever. I began by having my kids pick out a photo (current) and let them pick out a journal it tag to journal on.
Gentry's picture is one of my FAVE's. She is 16- and her tag pulls out from an envelope. She put her name in stickers and journaled on the tag.
This next page is Ty's. Can you tell that he is learning to write in cursive. His personality is bursting on this page... I love it!
So each clear page represents a family member. (Dots papers is from my TRAVELOGUE line-ha!)
This is McKay. She wanted to use the CROWN tag to journal on. Note: Each person signed and put their date on the tag. This will be such a treasured keepsake!!!
On TV- Reegan pointed out the #8 thing that Zach listed. Zach choose the Take Note tag. He numbered his...and wrote I am thankful for (and listed his things)...#8 said "Best mom and dad in the world." Wow, thanks Zach...please say this when you are 16!!!! I LOVE that all the tags are in the KIDS own handwriting. They wrote from their HEART. I left them alone to do it...so it was REAL to them.
This is Seth's page. I love that he used the numbered tag. I am a list kind of girl- makes it easier!!!!
The last page is a damask tag that I placed on an envelope...for my journaling.
I kept the book quite simple. I wanted to show that with stickers and a photo/ a few tags...you can create a meaningful book.
My friend, Susan who passed away unexpectantly this last week was the "inspiration" for this book. I am so sad and I easily let these things "cripple" me. I thought of ways that I can help document the REAL things...the REAL thoughts... more for my life. I may not be here to TELL THEM my feelings but hopefully I am leaving a legacy for my family. I want to include them in the process. It's IMPORTANT!!!!
The girls at Good Things are so sweet and I think I inspired Reegan to create a book. She asked after taping where she could get my products (BTW- she does not scrapbook) and so I gave her all my stuff that I had taken. I think of scrapbooking as JOURNALING...writing your life story. Scrapbooking is COOL and it HAS meaning!!! It does not matter if you scrapbook like me or if you just put photos on cardstock and journal...it's all about documenting YOUR life...wow...sorry if I'm going overboard. It's just something I am PASSIONATE about. I hope that you take some time to do a GRATITUDE book this month- I promise, you will be glad that you did.
Reegan asked me on air the stores that carry my products. I was thinking like a crazy woman- I can't remember them all. I tried to mention a store that I don't even think carries my lines. Ha! I am so thankful for all the stores around the world that carry and support my lines. I simply do not know who and to what extent they carry the lines... However-
