I am working on projects now to show!!!
TODAY I am showing my second project that I am teaching at my event INSPIRATION UNLIMITED next month. It is not for the faint of heart!!! It is exclusive to my event and is not available for kits. The event is a 1.5 year of planning for each year. I wish we could fit MORE students in but we realized that around 275 is maximum for Ginger and I to handle. We were able to add 47 NEW students this year. So if you are on the list please don't give up. If the list continues to grow, you never know if we have a second event. Honestly, it's a huge event and it's just us with around TEN volunteers. I love and appreciate Ginger so much for always doing so much. I teach the entire event- over 18 hours in two days so that everyone gets to have TC overload. ha!!!!
Here is my second project:
Yes, it's HUGE and it's on a large clipboard. I am so in LOVE with the layering, glitter, embossing and MORE! I used my new collection- Family Stories. This line I promise will make you happy.
Okay... HAPPY TUESDAY. I am excited to share all of this with you!!!!
This was the photo that McKay sent me yesterday from her mission-
She is loving Seattle!!!!!!
They are OVER the top amazing. I wanted to share MORE projects that will be taught at Inspiration Unlimited 2013. They are beyond beautiful and inspiring. I am so honored to have these talented girls come teach at the event.
I am so excited about this card class with Kimber McGray. I love how interactive all the elements are. I am positive that we are in for a treat at the event. Her workshop sponsor is JILLIBEAN SOUP!!!!!!
This is a sneak peek of the workshop with Pink Paislee's awesome products with Rebecca Cross. I am so in love with this preview. The colors are so pretty!
I am so loving this sneak peek of Layle Koncar's workshop using the Simple Stories collection/book. Is this not over the top amazing????? I have always loved her projects.
Also, I have a NEW SHOW on MY CRAFT CHANNEL TODAY...
The actual link to watch it is:
TOMORROW is a big day... big announcement...
check my blog tomorrow!!!!!
Today is my oldest daughters birthday and I am headed to the airport in a just a few hours to fly home. It is worth getting just three hours of sleep so that I can be home to be with her and my family. I will be headed to church right after I get home. This is what grounds me and gives me so much peace in my life. We are having a birthday party for Taylor today at our home. I love family events. I love that my family loves getting together and spending time together.
I could not be proudier of this sweet girl. She is not only my daughter but one of my closest/bestest friends in the entire world. We talk every single day and I am proud of her and how STRONG she is. If you take classes from me- THIS cutie is the one who kits the kits. She does awesome and goes above and beyond to make them organized and precise. She has had a hard year of learning, growth, disappointment and change because of her divorce. I have seen her become stronger and wiser and BLOSSOM. Life is oh so GREAT for her now. She is single and happier then I have ever seen her. One day when the time is right I know she will marry again.
So HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY birthday Taylor- we love you so much!
NEWS.... ZACH made the NTIS baseball team and is going to fly to Cary NC to play in less than 3 weeks. I love you son and am happy for you. This will be the second time that he is going to play in this tournament. He is excited to go to North Carolina and eat the yummy food there! My husband Ty is going to take him since I will be going to S. Africa right after the tournament and my husband felt it would be too hard for me to to to NC and home for a couple days and then the LONG journey to S. Africa. I think Ty and Zach just wanted dad and son time. I love that they are so close!!!!
I want my CUTE husband to know that I miss him. I am in the hotel room and I taught all day today. I was in between classes and my phone dinged... I had a text. I quickly looked at it to see a text from Tyler. It simply said... " I love and miss you." I truly believe that LOVE grows and after all these years I am more in love with him daily.
Guess what???? Hannah Home Accents is just ONE REASON why I love IL and that I agreed to come back. So here is the date:
March 7th and 8th 2014
(will be teaching brand new projects with the TCD new CHA W products debuting in January in Anaheim, CA)
THANK YOU to everyone who came to the workshops. It ended up being a GIRLS WEEKEND for me. When I wasn't teaching I was able to connect with friends and enjoy great conversation. During the workshops I was able to reconnect with my friends and get to have many heartfelt conversations.
This is just one of the workshop classes adn some of the girls were missing. Yes, they were so welcoming and kind.
I love giving away prizes and hope everyone enjoyed the extra goodies. This beautiful girl won the TC Xyron Adhesive Class kit. She was excited!!!!!
I was inspired by being here. Karin... you are a nut in a very good way. Theresea you are the first ANTIGLITTER girl that actually scrapped all the glitter off of the product. HA! So many funny conversations and good times.
I love each and every one of you. I can't wait to see many
of you at Scrapfest. THIS group is made up of PURE awesome girls. Can I be in your club?????
Look at this wooden plaque that Cherie made with my new Masquerade Party collection (& another with Memorabilia collection). These projects were amazing!!!!!
Cherie I love that you use my products and I really appreciate the support. YOU are a sweetheart!
Okay these two girlies made sure I ate and had me laughing A LOT... Christine and Michelle... I had so much fun and I enjoyed the conversations. I truly feel like I made lifelong real friends this weekend.
This was taken in front of the restuarant we ate at tonight. I am always looking for PHOTO OPS. Next time I am here... I definitely want to come back to this restaurant.
Life is short... embrace every single day and take crazy photos. This is my first photo ever with a Donkey and a white faced man. I will always remember this fun weekend. Thank you Dana... you are the real deal and I so appreciate your support!
I am smitten with this town. I am in love with the small town feel of this special place. I am in Antioch, IL teaching at Hannah's Home Accents. It is a 30,000 square foot mega scrapbook, craft and speciality store and more. Yes, they carry ALL my TCD products. They have the BEST selection and I shopped and even bought some cool things for my workshops at the upcoming Caribbean cruise.
This is Dana (far left) and two her store employees. They are both 19 years old and helped me so much. I can honestly say they went above and beyond. Dana picked me up in Wisconsin and we drove to the store. I immediately LOVED her and knew we were instant friends. She had everything so organized and we set up for the workshops (thank you girls for the help) and she had all my brand new collections. Everyone was so excited and filled their carts with my product. It was selling out FAST. Dana had to contact Brian (my sales director) and place an order on the spot. I loved seeing everyone so excited to get my new lines. It just makes me feel like I am doing something right- THANK YOU!!!!!!! MORE TCD will be in on FRIDAY if you want to visit the store.
The class was so full I had to go so far back to try to fit everyone in the photo. Everyone welcomed me and I enjoyed talking to each of the girls. I got to see so many familiar faces. Yes, many of the Scrapfest girls who scared me last year. ha! There were girls who drove several hours to be here. I have to say, this store is definitely WORTH the drive and visit.
Dana asked me on the spot if I would come again in 2014. So I was more than happy to say YES! More tomorrow....
Dana and her girlfriends who truly inspired me by sharing with me... yes, they reminded me that we are leaving a legacy.
It's late... 12:40 am here and I need to sleep so I can teach two more workshops this morning.
Yesterday was amazing. I got to go watch Zach "try out" for the NTIS games. He had done evaluations on Wednesday and is now playing games in hopes to be selected as one of 18 players to go to Cary NC. I am a huge baseball fan because of my boys. Zach plays baseball six days a week or at least practices. It's just his thing.
Right now, Zach and other amazing (they are invited to try out) players across the country will compete in identification opportunities that will culminate in the selection of regional NTIS teams. These teams will be comprised of the best players from within the region to form the team that goes to NC. So Zach and the other players are playing games today and being evaluated. They announce the players tomorrow.
No matter what it has been a great experience and I loved watching him. If selected they announce the players tomorrow, all teams will participate in the USA Baseball NTIS, Aug. 22-25 (16U & 17U)at the USA Baseball National Training Complex and adjoining Thomas Brooks Park in Cary, N.C. Anyway, I am headed to teach in IL but thinking of him like crazy. I love that my husband or I never miss a game. I have the BEST husband. (sorry if your not into baseball- it's just such a big part of our family story) It makes it easier for me since we can't both be at every single game.
I am sooo excited. I am headed to Hannah's Home Accents. I'm here in the Denver airport waiting for my second flight to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I KNOW I am suppossed to be going there this weekend and I just know that it's going to be special.
The workshops sold out and Dana called with a special request to make room for ONE MORE. I love knowing that although I had no more kits or time to kit another one, that she needed to come. I am going to bring all kinds of goodies to make her weekend fabulous. I brought goodies for EVERYONE too. Wow... am I blessed to love what I do.
Scrapbooking can and is VERY PERSONAL. We talk about personal memories and trials and often I am in tears. I laugh and cry along with each person I meet. There are heartfelt- life long connections that I feel and grow from. So just know if your coming tonight or tomorrow... I am honored and can't wait to meet you. Dana, thank you for asking me and waiting for me to come.
Okay... now for the SNEAK PEEK for Inspiration Unlimited 2013 PAULA CHENEY class. Are you prepared to be amazed????
This class features the Idea-ology Configurations book filled with bright Distress Paint Colors, Idea-ology trinkets, and inspiring words. Each book will be just a little different as you make it your own as you choose the words that mean the most to you. In class you will also experiment with Distress Markers, Stains, and Alcohol Ink. And one little bit of advice from Paula herself..."Loose the manicure, put on your apron and get ready to get a little messy!"..
I am so thankful and honored that she is teaching at the event. She is so talented and I know those coming are going to be learning so much from her.
Okay.. thank you Denver International Airport for FREE WI- FI. It's the small things that make me happy!
Time to board the second flight... Have a great weekend!!!!!
Oh my... this morning was the BEST! McKay left the MTC at 4:30 am to head to the SLC airport. She called me from the airport and we talked for about 40 minutes. McKay was so happy and kept stopping to say HI to all her missionary friends that were leaving for their missions too. She was giggling and happy and said going on a mission was the BEST decision she had ever made.
She LOVED the MTC and felt such a connection with her roommates. She is the only sister going to Seattle from her district and the only one that she met that is going Spanish speaking.
Why oh why is she wearing a Llama shirt with a skirt? That's the McKay I know and love.
So she was telling me that she has made so many friends and that everyone she meets thinks she is so funny and a little crazy and kept telling her she was so fun to be with. This makes me laugh because McKay has always been so outgoing, very friendly and honestly people always wanted to be around her because she "radiates" goodness and makes you want to be with her.
She has always made silly faces and I guess the Elder's told her that she is CRAZY and fun to watch. I see that she is still the same ole McKay.
She sent me these photos yesterday. This was her last week at the MTC. She just said she LOVED the experience. She gave a talk in church in SPANISH in front of the MTC president. I am so proud of my girl.
She said the language is coming along and she feels God has truly helped her in 6 weeks to learn the language. She mentioned that her and her district had decided to work hard to learn Spanish and give it 1,000 percent and not slack off. She told me this morning that she knew they were blessed because they worked daily (all day) to learn the language. Their teacher told them that he had never seen a group so solid in the language leaving the MTC. He was impressed with their work ethic and desire to serve.
Cute story- McKay kept running into people she KNEW or people who knew people she knew. One day she went up to a Elder Bartholomew and asked him where he was from. He told her Springville, Utah. She said do you know DEVAN Bartholomew my brother in law? Small world- it is Devan's cousin. She said he looked at her like she was a little crazy.
Then one day she is at PE and the teacher calls McKays best friend Josilyn. It is against mission rules so Mckay could not talk to her but she said she could hear her and it was a sweet experience to relay a message. She wanted to know that her friends are okay. I sent her messages from Josilyn and Taylor Ann.
Speaking of friends- she wants to THANK all of you that are emailing and sending her letters and packages. She got 19 emails yesterday. Since she only has ONE hour of computer each week she feels bad that she can't respond to each of them. She said to thank you each SO MUCH and how supported and loved she feels. She misses her friends but said she knows that she made the right decision to serve. She is so happy and will be back with all of you in JAN. 2015 at BYU!!!!!
You can write her now at the Seattle address. As her mom, I can't thank you enough for supporting her. McKay is a mommy's girl and she said she has not been homesick but just misses all of a lot. She is doing so well because of all of the support.
PS... McKay has not changed one bit- she is still a hoot. She had me laughing so hard this morning!!!!!! I'm on the phone with her and she is laughing the entire time and randomly talking to missionaries as they walked by. So McKay!!!!!
How neat that she got to HOST and welcome the new missionaries into the MTC this past week!
Okay... I am floating- super thrilled to finally get to talk to her. I could not be prouder of this girl! Seatlle, Washington take care of my girl. If you see her, please give her a huge hug and tell her hello. I know she would LOVE it!!!!!
CHA Summer trade show in Las Vegas was a huge success. It started off as a rough start. This was the first trade show that I had ever driven to. I was on my way to Vegas and had a friend with me in the car. We were on our way to pick up Gentry at her home when the sunroof of my car (I had it only for less than 2 days) emploded. It sounded like a 50 caliber gun exploded in my roof and the sunroof shattered and glass EXPLODED down on us, in the car, on the roof and the trunk. It was so scary and it happened for no reason. I was driving maybe 25 mph and 76 degrees outside with no cars in front or back of me. I was so scared. I immediately went to the side of the road and took photos and surveyed the damage to both of us and then the vehicle.
Instantly, all I could think about was being THANKFUL. I was so thankful that we had not been hurt beyond a few scratches. I am so thankful that the car dealerships immediately took action to help us. I even had a loaner car in Vegas for the week.
Sometimes... things like this puts everything in perspective. I would never have thought this would or could happen. I just felt so thankful that I did not wreck from the reaction. Even though it was a new car for me... well, it is just a car and no matter what I knew the car could easily be replaced. Our life could not.
So when we arrived at the hotel, I was a little overwhelmed from a long day of driving, dealing with two car dealerships and trying to get my car fixed and safe to drive. The hotel has made a mistake and gave us ONE single bed. I needed two beds. I had to move rooms. The new room was so dirty (it looked like a crime scene). I was then moved back to my original room. I was told they would bring me two cots. Well, after waiting hours they brought me ONE and very "snappy and rude" told me they would not bring me another and I needed to pay for the cot each night. I went to the hotel check in and asked for a new room and they were very nice to give me free internet and change our room again. Well, it was quite the adventure. In all the drama, I was not upset and I think they appreciated my attitude of understanding and wanted to make me happy. To be honest, it was just a hotel room and I was just so thankful that we had made it to the show okay.
We had a great time!!!! Yes, we enjoyed girl time every night in the hotel room. We loved to laugh and talk. I am blessed with the best girl friends. I love that my daughters are truly my best friends too. I am lucky to have friends that believe in me and support me. (TC, Amy, Cheri and Gentry)
THIS is my team!!!! Cheri Piles is the head of my design team, Gentry works all the trade shows, does blog posts and helps refine my collections. I always like to get the Gentry and Taylor seal of approval. Jared and Brian Orr are my sales directors. I have truly enjoyed working with them. Amy Coon is officially my cheerleader. She is my friend and so much more.
I debuted FOUR full collections and the TC Craftwell ebosser machine with embossing folders, and two new tools with Xyron (TC Xyron chipboard punch and pink stapler). It was a great show for us and I am just so thankful. The show was much smaller and we kept busy the entire time. I am so thankful for the retailers that constantly inspire and support me.
Did I mention we had flash floods the first couple of days we were there? Oh, I was caught in this one. Another reason to be thankful.
We stayed at the Las Vegas Hilton. LVH connected to the Convention Center.
Here I am filming for Scrapbook.com. If you go to their site you can see me debuting and showing each of the new collections. Oh my... my dress kind of matched the curtains in my booth. ha! I LOVE showing the new lines and what inspired them!!!!!! All of the collections did well. Retailers can order one collection or all four and almost all the stores ordered ALL FOUR collections. I hope the store closest to you ordered the new lines too.
I filmed a 30 minute TV segment of the home shopping CREATE and CRAFT live from CHA. I was on with Dean and he is a hoot! I love being able to show the collections and sharing how you can use them.
Then I debuted my brand new machine with Craftwell. Oh my... this was a BIG HUGE hit at CHA S. The Craftwell TC eBosser is the ONE machine you will want. It is the ONE MACHINE that does it all- embosses (my folders are big letter size and 8.5x12"h) and will use all your dies to cut as well. Yes, you can use any of the leading dies to cut in the machine. (spellbinders, provo craft, accucut, accuquilt, sizzix, ALL OF THEM). The TC eBosser comes with all the platforms to use any of them. The machine is completely electric- no turning a knob. In only 15 seconds you will emboss or cut your image like a pro!!!! The machine is fool proof and is heavy duty (all metal parts so it's durable).
We did fabulous make n takes each day and the lines were long. We did RUN OUT!!!!!
*you can see the manila tag and white card that we embossed on this view.
Here are the other folders that I designed that are available.
My machine comes with the TC Craftwell eBosser and TWO of my embossing folders (sophisticated and it's about time). Also, I will be introducing the WORLD WIDE LAUNCH DEBUT of the machine in September on HSN during the 24 hour craft day. The machine will be avaiable after that on October 1st. I can't wait for the debut!!!!!!!
I finally got to meet Emily. I have been working with her for months. She is a sweetheart and we clicked immediately. I also meet Jasmine. I knew that Craftwell was the perfect fit for me. They are a technology based company with the highest standards of workmanship, and customer service. Craftwell hired these models- Abercrombie models to walk around with the TC eBosser machine. They were at the booth and took photos with so many people during the show. Thank you David, Paul, Jasmine and Emily for going above and beyond in our debut and partnership.
This was Cheri's first show and she really enjoyed meeting everyone and seeing first hand how crazy fun and busy the trade shows are for us. (Abercrombie Craftwell TC Ebosser models, Kristine McKay (My Craft Channel) and Stephanie Hamen (Fiskars).
Just wait to see what we have planned for CHA Winter in Anaheim!!!!!!
Also, if you are looking for the new tools with TC/Xyron... you can order from Xyron, Notions and Product Performers.
They are not shipping yet, but I will let you know when they are available. You can get the TC Mega Runners, TC Stickermakers and the TC Adhesive KITS NOW!!!!! The stapler uses LARGE staples and is heavy duty.
Okay... now for the BIG PRIZE WINNER... we looked and watched to pick a winner. Drum Roll.....
the lucky winner of the FOUR brand new paper collections is:

First, I had to get a new sign for the booth and it was 9 feet wide and heavy so I needed the TC boys and the MME boys to use their muscles to help me put up the sign. Putting up the booth is always takes a lot of time. The best part is the beautiful projects that are arranged throughout the booth. I love showcasing what the design team and I created. THANK YOU design team and friends who helped create projects for the booth and Ideal World TV samples. Also, THANK YOU boys!!!

I'm here in Vegas preparing the booth for the start of the tradeshow on Tuesday. We have had a flash flood, changed our hotel room 4 times (ha ha) and honestly had the BEST time ever!!!! It's been so much fun.
I loved taking the girls to Henderson to shop for inspiration on Saturday. I love the store- WEST ELM.
Then we started to do the booth. The crates were ready and we went to work to set it all up.
The padding for the floor is the very first thing we do. Thank you Gentry, Cheri, TC, Brian and Riley for helping to make set so much fun.
This is the booth in progress. PS the chandlier takes FOREVER to put all the crystals on it.
We had Crafters Home and the lines debuted were so well received. I am so excited to show them to everyone at the show. The booth number is 949.
The booth in progress. My favorite is seeing all the design team projects displayed. I am 100% sure they are the best at the show. Yes, I am biased.

My Craft Channel has launched the 2013 Craft Survey for the general crafter and I am helping to spread the word. The survey is short and will only take about 3 minutes to complete. After you complete the survey-you are entered into an amazing drawing for a $650 prize pack that includes a great prize offering by my company and several other amazing companies.
I have included the link to the blog post and an image for the giveaway. The survey and giveaway will be active through Wednesday, July 24th.
I have always loved to design for Halloween. It makes me sad that my kids are now too old to Trick or Treat. At least I can still design and enjoy having Halloween trick or treaters and parties. So this year, I was inspired by doing a line that was geared for PARTY favors with invitations and more!!!!
I love making my own frames to decorate for Halloween. This is using my 6x6 paper pad and chipboard for the collection.
I found these photos of McKay at Halloween and they brought back such good memories. I can still remember buying her the tights and thinking she was the cutest "witch." I am LOVING the collage paper. Many of these images were ones and have used in previous collections.
I am so in LOVE with the Halloween treat bags with the collection. I have used these as pages in my projects as well as party treat bags. I added the 12x12 stickers to the bags- there are glassine and printed bags.
PS I am ALOT addicted to Hi-Chew... anyone else? My favorite flavor is 1. Mango and 2. Grape. I used to be a STARBURST girl but no more- ha!
Okay we are headed out for the show. I hope you like the little peek from the Halloween collection. MUCH more to come!!!
Remember to call or go to your LSS and ask for the new collections. They need to know what you like and want them to order. I so appreciate YOUR support.
The winner from FAMILY STORIES collection:
Have a great Friday!!!!!!
I got home from Denver last night and crashed about 10 pm. Today I am headed to the My Craft Channel studios and filming Craftwell TC ebosser and embossing folder videos. I have a script and I always do better when I wing it- ha so I hope I will do okay. I think my favorite thing to do is LIVE tv. I like that it's a conversation and you can normally feed off the host or whoever is on air with you. I love HSN and Good Things Utah (channel 4) because of it. I don't get nervous at all which I have always found really weird. I actually LOVE doing TV because I love what I am doing and people tell me my passion is felt. I hope that is the case.
Okay... I am excited. TOMORROW I leave for CHA. This year I am going to drive to the show. I love roadtrips and I just decided to drive and have my own car there. Are you going? The only problem is that Gentry is going and she is the worst back seat driver. She claims I scare her when I drive.
So today I am showing my THIRD release for CHA Summer. Trust me, you will LOVE this line. It's just beautiful. It's color but beautiful in that it's not too bright or too neutral. I wanted a strong theme related to it but one that you could use or not use. Hope that made sense!!!
My inspiration was that 1. family line 2. anchors (your family is your anchor in life) 3. PEOPLE icon (just loved it!) This line is so pretty and I keep reaching for it to design with it.
I love the stamps in this LOVE (love), the sequins, enamel dots inside the sequins, diecut pennants and brads on the distressed wood. PS the papers are all heavy cardstock weight.
This is the family stories cards that I made with the 12x12 chipboard, and 6x6 paper pad and my envelopes. All cards were embossed with TC ebosser machine and TC folders. I'm a LITTLE (okay alot) addicted to embossing now.
This is ONE of my new FAMILY STORIES workshops that I will be teaching.
The stamps for this line are just my go to stamp set. I use it in EVERYTHING. The man/woman, take note, anchor, etc. I love it!
I am teaching at so many events and I just wanted you to know that if you are coming to my event in Henderson NV- Inspiratin Unlimited- those workshops are exclusive to that event. The same goes for the Caribbean cruise. I have so many new events to announce. Just know that I always make sure and let you know if I am ever teaching a class again and when it's an exclusive project.
Do you want to win a prize from FAMILY STORIES? All you need to do today is comment. I would love it if you tell me WHERE you buy your scrapbook supplies. IF you don't have a store- please list your online store.
THANKS!!!! GOOD LUCK.
Today is such a GREAT day! I am headed to the SLC airport this morning... going Denver for a quick ONE DAY trip. I will be home late tonight. I wanted to share some very exciting news. As you can imagine I am thrilled to be working with Craftwell. I love that they allow me to stay true to my signature style. We have great things in the work. The machine is really beautiful. I don't think this photo even comes close to how pretty it is. I wanted the artwork to be in gold. The gold against the white is so timeless and pretty. I designed the make n take and showed it to Gentry who then asked if I could get her a machine. Then Taylor asked if I could get her one too.
Are you going to CHA? Craftwell and I will be directly across from one another. Please come visit us and see first hand how wonderful the machine is. If you visit booth #954, we are doing a free make n take with my brand new 8.5 x 11 TC embossing folders and the TC ebosser machine. I will post the times next week since the actual make n take is only during a set time each day. However, you can go in the booth and design with the machine at any time.
Yes, you can come and make the entire book with my machine and folders. I am using my new MEMORABILIA collection (papers, sequins, corsage pin). You will get complete instructions and visuals to recreate and teach. This album is punched with the TC/Xyron chipboard punch too.
You can see three of the embossing folders used on the Make N Take project: starburst, circle and clock. I am truly in LOVE with the machine and folders and how simple it is to create with. I could not be more happy with how the machine and folders turned out. I love the large 8.5 x 11 size. Did I mention that the TC ebosser will die cut and emboss any folder or die cut you have from any company? I can still use all the Sizzix, Spellbinders, Provo Craft designs that I have in my new machine. It works with all of them and this was a HUGE selling point for me.
I have many more designs to debut too. Craftwell is the perfect partner for me and I am thankful for this opportunity.
The winner for yesterday's giveaway- the Memorabilia collection is:
Please email what you won in the subject line with your address to firstname.lastname@example.org. THANK YOU and congratulations!!!!!
TODAY is a big day to debut my new products. I can hardly contain my excitement over the releases and peeks you will see today and this week. First, I am so honored to be designing and working with Xyron. I love being able to produce products that I love and believe in. We are constantly adding new items together. I LOVE that they listen to what I love and use and together we bring it to market. So today I am sharing my TWO new products with Xyron.
If you have ever taken a workshop with me- you know a STAPLER is my go to crafting tool and one I always ask students to bring. The TC Xyron stapler has AMAZING quality and is perfect for holding and using as a crafter. The stapler is heavy duty which was very important to me. It is easy to hold and use. It works with regular sized staples. I have used it for months testing it out and have never had it jam. So I love that the quality is there and did I mention it's pink. Isn't it cute????
The next tool we are debuting together is this-
It is the TC/Xyron chipboard punch. It will punch through paper and chipboard with ease. I will be using this in all my upcoming workshops. I am in LOVE!!!!! All new TC workshops will get to use the punch. I will be showing projects tomorrow that I created with the punch. PS there is a MAKE N TAKE involved with this!!!
Both of these tools will be available NOVEMBER 1st directly from Xyron.
Now for the second collection that I designed-
I wanted to do a collection that had the look of chalkboard and mixed with my love for journaling and QUOTES. I wanted it to feel like a line that you could see at a boutique. Oh my... this line is so fun to design with and I can't pick a favorite item in the collection.
6x6 paper pad, papers, sequins... this line is really a pretty collection.
The line is non-themed so you can really just create. The sequins in this line are: gold, black, clear and yellow.
From ONE sheet of the 12x12 quote papers I did this entire set of framed quotes. I really am just a girl who loves her quotes.
I wanted to share some of my cards and another frame. The crystal corsage pin in the tan ribbon is a BRAND new product as well. These projects are using the layered stickers in the collection. I spy: envelopes, stamps, corsage pin, layered stickers, 12x12 and 6x6 paper.
I hope you enjoy my version of chalkboard and scrapbooking. Thank you for all the comments yesterday. Today I am giving away a collection set of MEMORABILIA and another lucky winner will win the new TC Staper!!!!!!! Two winners will be posted tomorrow and I will post my new collection and some exciting news.
The winner from yesterday (Santa's LIST) is:
Make sure you LIKE TCD on FACEBOOK if you have not done so already- www.facebook.com/tcdesigns. Have a great day!
I am THRILLED to finally be able to share the FIRST sneak peek of my Christmas collection that will debut next week at CHA Summer in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This collection is just stunning. There are beautiful red glitter 12x12 papers, 3x4 notecard 12x12 paper, treat bags, sticky notes, numbered brads, file folders, SEQUINS (800 to a package) chipboard, enamel dots, stickers, chipboard buttons, stamps, photo corners, envelopes... and more!!!!! I wanted to share some projects with you with the debut.
I'm in LOVE with the Santa in the collection. The colors are kraft, white, creams, tans, black and red. What can I say I am a fan of traditional Christmas colors. The treat bags are BRAND NEW and they have printed patterns mixed with clear glassine envelopes too. I just added sticky notes to them to fill with candy and give away as a gift. MERRY CHRISTMAS is my new decorative tape (on the glassine envelope) The photo in the frame is a 3x4 notecard (from 12x12 paper).
I love the number 12x12 paper. It has all the numbers on one sheet 1-31 and then repeats so that you can do countdown or use for any type of numbered project. I stamped the month on the front of the wood box from the collection.
Here is a CHRISTMAS MEMORY KEEPER project that I designed with the new line. Yes, the large gold sequins are part of the collection.
Everything seen is part of the collection!!!!!
These are the stitched notebooks with the collection. I have so much for to share and preview with this and the other collections! I hope you like...okay LOVE them as much as I do!
Shipping will be right after CHA. We have everything in and ready to ship to our retailers.
Today I am going to GIVE AWAY one collection of SANTA'S LIST to one of you for commenting. I will pick a winner and announce it tomorrow on the blog when I preview my next collection. GOOD LUCK!!!!!
The Scrapbook Attic & More. What can I say? We had so much fun. These girls welcomed me and I became INSTANT friends with EACH of these beautiful girls. They were a FUN group. They made me laugh and really enjoy a creative journey with them. The store owner- Denise Pearlman and I instantly hit it off. We chatted like old friends all the way from Little Rock to Searcy. I knew immediately that I was going to have a good weekend. Everyone was so friendly, laid back and eager to enjoy girl time.
I know I am a little behind in sharing my photos from Italy. I am in Searcy Arkansas and realized I need to share my photos from Italy so I can then share my photos from here. I got home two weeks today from an amazing time in Italy. A Kiss on the Chic hosts the event each year to Bellagio, Italy. It was truly beyond beautiful. I took about 800 photos and so I've only been able to share just a few. Here are some more-
I am beyond thankful for this experience. This was my view for nine days.
It's a GREAT workout to walk everywhere... up and down the cobblestone streets. There is little shops everywhere. The town is super friendly.
STUNNING beautiful views of Lake Como. Nope we never did run into George Clooney. ha!
It was pure serenity and just so peaceful. I think that is how I would describe where we were.
I really loved meeting all the girls at the event. This is Sherry and her sweet daughter Addie. They are mom/daughter and I just loved my sweet Texas friends. Many stories, laughs and good times were shared.
I loved all the food choices. This is where we had pizza one day. I'm not a pizza person, but ate it almost every single day. ha! I really enjoyed how they prepared it- very thin crust. The photos on the right side of this room were framed photos of GEORGE CLOONEY and his visits to Bellagio.
Laura planned some great day tours and we got to shop and enjoy lunch in Como one day. This is where the Scrapbook Store is located. So worth a visit if you are ever never Como.
The girls from Italy spoiled us with daily gifts and they gave me the BEST gift to take home. It was an assortment of vinegars, sauces and and more from Italy. YUMMY!!!!! We are still enjoying the gift.
I adore these girls. Jeanne Oliver is the mega super talented and adorable mixed media artist. She is kind, humble and just the complete package of awesomeness. I loved meeting her husband Kelly too. We truly enjoyed our time with them. Laura McCollough is the event host and with her two beautiful girls did an OUTSTANDING job. It was VERY organized and I loved this. Laura taught a workshop as well. I loved it!!!!!! Okay- THANK YOU LAURA for inviting me. I had the most amazing experience. I simply feel honored to have been invited. THANK YOU!!!!
I loved the statues in Italy. I took MANY photos of statues...
This is a HUGE large church in Italy. I saw a man doing a confessional in from of a priest. I thought it would be like in the movies. So much history... I could have stayed so much longer.
I would go back again... again and again. I so enjoyed this event.
So now I am headed to teach two more workshops here in Searcy. I am beyond grateful to be here with Denise Pearlman and the girls at The Scrapbook Attic & More. The store is FULL of my products. The event was sold out fast and they have moved the store to make room for everyone here. I LOVE it here. I love all the girls who came long distances to be here. Many traveled from other states. WE are having fun and I love being in the South. I LOVE it!!! I got up at 6am to workout. I am walking and running every morning and I knew it was going be too hot and humid it I waited.
Hope you are doing something fun today!
I am at the airport. We are literally boarding now... I am headed to Little Rock Arkansas. I am so looking forward to this trip. So many sweet women coming. Some I know and many I will get to meet. I love what I do!
I wanted to share about yesterday. I was able to go and see KC and Mallory get married in the temple. It was beautiful and a great way to start the day. Then Zach had prospect games in Spanish Fork, UT.
I am so happy for him. He had a great week of baseball. He loved the BYU baseball camp and did well and then he played well yesterday. He won the Home Run Derby for the Class of 2016. I love that he did NOT want me to take this photo. He did not want others to think he was bragging. I love that about him. I had to take it when no one was looking. I love Zach and his friends and watching them play and focus on good things.
We then went to the wedding reception at the Provo library. It was beautiful. I got home late and then had to pack. I am going on 3.5 hours sleep. I am planning to sleep on the flight. Oh, they are calling my zone now.
Happy Friday... on my way to Searcy Arkansas.
Next week... CHA Summer is in Las Vegas Nevada. It is time to debut new collections. I am going to start showing the lines and projects THIS COMING MONDAY. I will reveal my MAKE N TAKE that you can come and do at the Craftwell TC booth (they are right across from me at the trade show). Guess what? I have a new machine to debut with Craftwell and 8.5 x 11 embossing folders. I will debut TWO NEW fabulous TC/Xyron products. Oh my... I have been busy. I have designed new stamps with Fiskars, but I am not sure if they will debut at CHA S. Did I mention that I have been busy????
I am just so thankful for friends and family in my life who support me. I went to lunch yesterday with a dear friend. I love her and I love that she gets me. I often run on very little sleep so that I can be with my kids during the day and attend their events. Often I work late into the night. I try to plan my time and be organized so I am "really there" for my kids. I will never truly be happy or successful if my family fails. So my first love and priority is always my family. With the success of my company I have had to spend much time in prayer and asking for HELP daily to balance it all.
I had a really special experience yesterday. After lunch I came home to be with my son Ty. I knew I needed to film segments this morning for My Craft Channel but I wanted to spend time with him. I had a few ideas and projects that I had worked on with my new products debuting, but wasn't sure what projects to feature. I honestly just prayed that I would KNOW and be able to get at least SIX show contents ready to film. Well, I made dinner for Ty and he had BMX practice tonight. Ty took him and I was alone for 2.5 hours. I started to go show by show for each of my tapings. I felt the strongest impressions and knew exactly what shows and samples would work. In total I had 14 shows to tape... fourteen. I literally got done with packing the boxes and supplies to take to the studio and five minutes later the boys got home. I was astonished that I had it done so quickly. It is moments like this that I realize that God is always mindful of our righteous needs and desires.
I am been so busy that I have not been able to edit my Italy photos. It was so wonderful and magical and I loved EVERY moment of the trip. It was special to have Ty go with me. I did edit a couple of photos and I thought I would share a few at a time.
We did so much walking. I loved it!!!! The streets are just my favorite. I love ITALY!!!! PS Ty hates his photo taken. I take them anyway. It's important that our kids have photos and the grandbabies...
The buildings, the architecture... just stunning.
Did I mention that I loved all the shops there? I also loved the gelato. Oh it was a treat!!!!
Here we are in Como. I loved every town. I loved the church here. I got the cutest ITALY zip up jacket here and visited the scrapbook store here. I love these two NC sisters. Lynne and Carol are from my home state and area. I just connected with them. I am going to go have dinner with them next time I'm back visiting my sister and family in NC. I loved this trip and for the memories.
I have many more photos to share... thankful for Laura and her efforts to do such a great event.
I'm headed to Searcy Arkansas in TWO days. I know it will be fun!!!! I do have a fun announcement for my international friends. I am headed to Madrid Spain to teach 4 workshops the weekend of Oct. 4-6th. All the details will be announced next week. My flight has been purchased and I will see my friends in Spain soon. I know some girls are flying in from surrounding countries. I know it will be a wonderful weekend if you would like to join us.
Okay, thankfully I am up super early... now I need to leave to head to the My Craft Channel studio.
I just dropped off at BYU Baseball camp with his friend Oliver this am. Oh my... I LOVE being a mother. I love that he wouldn't hug me good bye. HA! I did get a wave. I guess he is almost 16 years old. I think it is funny how my boys are easily embarrased by me these days. Today I was talking "too loud" as I checked him and his friend into the camp. I wonder if I was the same way???? The camp is only until Wednesday night.
I did drop off a box at a local place that makes daily deliveries to the MTC. I love knowing she will get her box today. I did not drive by the MTC even though I was RIGHT there because I knew I would start crying.
McKay has been in the MTC for almost 3 weeks(this Wednesday). Yes, I am that mother who is going to document and count down each day. I think it will help me to really feel apart of her journey and help her to remember it when she gets home. She emails each week and sends me photos. I wanted to share some of her photos from the MTC- Missionary Training Center.
McKay loves the MTC! She has made instant besties with her companion and the other sister missionaries.
McKay told me that these girls are so sweet and they became instant best friends. I am not surprised. She loves people and has always been the girl who just accepts and loves people just as they are.
My sons have a crush on her friend in purple. Oh my!!!!!
This is her companion in the MTC. They always have someone that they are with at all times. McKay said they are like the exact same person. They are so similar that they like the same things and have so much in common. So thankful they are instantly connected!
These are the name tags that they wear for their mission.
They love to have fun too!!!
The girls pointing where they will be serving once they leave the MTC.
This is standing in front of the Provo Temple. I am so thankful she is sending me photos every week. So proud of my girl!!!!!!
I have a NEW show today on www.mycraftchannel.com. I film new episodes this Wednesday. I love doing this!!!!!!
I still have the photos from Italy to edit and put up... Oh my so busy right now. I am headed to Searcy Arkansas to teach this Friday. I can't wait!!!!!!
I am so thankful today and everyday for the freedom and this wonderful country. I am thankful for the men and women who fight to protect our freedom. My father was a Vietnam Veteran. I just am so appreciative that we are a country that is so blessed. I know we have so many problems, but I like to focus on the good.
Today we are going to a barbeque and watch fireworks and then having a family party and doing the same thing tomorrow. I love being with my family and friends and enjoying the simple things.
This week it has been hot and crazy busy. I sold my car (it sold so fast- thank you KSL- when I listed it and now I have no car!!!!) and now need to find another car. I think I priced it too low with all the calls that I got on it. I just wanted to be fair and listed it for exactly what it was worth. Going to car dealerships gives me anxiety. Ha! I just don't like the negotiations. Anyway, driving my husbands stick shift now makes me realize that I need to apprciate the car I drove being automatic. Yes, it's the little things.
We are now selling McKays car since she is on her mission. Thankful for Zach and Taylor washing it and getting ready to sell it.
That is the one thing that I really encourage my kids to do is to work as a team in life. We are there to help each other in all that we do. Sometimes it's easy to just think about ourself and I want them to think about helping other people.
When we were in Italy they went on hikes and helped me watch Ty. I asked them to keep him busy doing good things and they did some fun things like hikes, swimming, etc. I can't thank my kids enough for all that they do to help each other and the love that they share.
Well, I have some news. Seth had to come home from his mission about 4 weeks ago from Mexico. He is very sick and they have no idea what is wrong with him. They have run so many tests but they can't figure out why he is so sick. He lost around 25 lbs (which he was already tiny!) and so we are praying they figure out what is wrong and that he can go back out on his mission.
McKay is loving her mission. I think it helps me so much that she emails and writes often. She sends me lots of photos and I just feel such happiness watching her grow and be so happy. I miss her like crazy and yes, I cry but I try not to let her know this.
Time to go and enjoy the 4th of July!!!!!!!!
Wow... I have not struggled to adjust to the time difference as much as I have this time going to Italy for 9 days. Last night, I finally slept 6 hours during the night. Woo Hoo! The previous night I was up the entire night. Oh well, I see that it may take a few more days to be back to normal.
I am HOME... so thankful!!! I love traveling and it's ALWAYS an adventure. I have so many photos to share. I simply am playing catch up with family and work obligations. It is July 2nd and I leave next Friday to go teach in Arkansas. Oh I can't wait!!! These workshops sold out so fast and we literally could not add one more person... so I am going to go back really soon and teach more workshops for Denise.
Then I leave July 19th for CHA Summer!!!!! I am thrilled with the releases. I love revealing new lines. I can't wait to share them with you soon. CHA is in Las Vegas, Nevada this year. I am pretty excited that I will have TWO boothes at the show. I have my company booth and right across from me- CRAFTWELL has a TC booth with my BIG REVEAL of what I did with them!!!!! It's going to be amazing and if you are going to CHA S- well, I designed the COOLEST make n take with my products that you can make in the TC/CRAFTWELL booth. Trust me, YOU will want one of the kits!!!! I can't wait to share with you.
My family is doing great and we are keeping busy. McKay is emailing each week and sending letters. She loves the MTC.
I will post photos that she has sent me soon. It's so hot here in Utah and I'm headed out to walk before it get's CRAZY hot today. We are having 100 plus degrees each day this week. I miss the long hikes and walks in Italy. I ate so much pasta and pizza and did not gain at all. It had to have been all the walking we did. Oh, and I had gelato every day too!!!! It was yummy.
McKay went into the MTC one week ago today. I am so super proud of her. I keep thinking of how much she is going and learning. She has sent me a email and mailed a letter to tell me how much she is learning, growing and loving being a missionary. I think I smiled so much I have permanent lines. I love that girl!!!!
I can't wait to get home and be able to properally share them all. I would feel horrible if I did not just express my gratitude to Heavenly Father for the peace and calmness in my heart that I have felt this past week. Many tears were shed and yet I am so feeling blessed and uplifted from her example. She told me to NOT miss her in her email to me. I just laughed, but I know she wants me to not focus on missing her, but probably do something constructive like she is doing. I guess I can start my countdown- 1 week out... ha!
Today I am in Italy. I taught a workshop this morning and then we had a yummy lunch while looking at Lake Como outside. I was just in LOVE with the beauty of the country and the women at this event. I have made the best of friends here. Thank you Angela, Cathy, Chris, Tricia, Athena, Fonda, Nora, Jeanne, Laura, Lynn, Carol, Lynne, Judy, Sara, germane, Jiun, Laure, Sherry, Addie and Dana for being so kind and for the wonderful time and conversations that we have shared.
This afternoon Jeanne taught us to do our own painting and I was in LOVE with the process. Mine looked NOTHING like her's or anyones. I just felt prompted to do it as if it was Taylor and to write a message on mine. I will give her this piece when I get home. I just felt so strongly that Taylor would appreciate the artwork and message that I wrote on it to her. I know that she is still struggling with her divorce and the feelings that that has left her with. I have seen her grow so much... but her heart is still so tender and she is rebuilding her foundation. I am so proud of her and for how she has handled the challenges. I know she is working hard on those feeling and taking her time to just heal. I can't wait to share what I did... I hope she will like it.
This place is beyond special and peaceful. I am thankful for this time. I am so inspired. You will get to see at CHA W what I came with since I have been here. I love it when this happens. xoxo
I just got back from a boat excursion with lunch at this amazing place. The women are just so nice and we are all getting along so well. Laura has truly planned the best excursions for our group and we have really been able to get to see Bellagio, Como and feel the culture of Italy here. I am so grateful and thankful for this experience. I am not even going to post photos yet... I want to enjoy every moment. Tonight we have a local Artist Event that Laura has planned. I can't wait to see the artwork and crafts of the local designers. I am so inspired here.
Off to enjoy the beautiful weather...
I am still in Italy. I wanted to share the photos from taking McKay to the MTC last Wednesday. This was such a wonderful and "sad" day for me. I was so mixed with emotions and I am happy to say that I am doing great, because I know that she loves what she is doing and having a wonderful experience. As a family we drove her down to Provo and went to lunch and then proceeded to the Provo Temple to take some photos. It was a windy day so most of the photos have flying hair everywhere. In this photo, you can't really see it but the MTC is in the background.
Just like our family to do "crazy" photos. I have to say these are usually my favorite ones. My boys are 14 and 15 years old so it is what we often get from them now.
I made her promise to send me lots and lots of photos during her mission. I have started a book for her already. I want to help her document this wonderful time so that years from now she will remember all the details.
This is my FAVORITE photo from the day. The Provo Temple is in the background. This was right before we left to drop her off.
Of course, I had to have a photo with her. I am a very proud mama. I am so happy that she is serving a mission.
Obviously, these two love each other so much. Zach and McKay are so close. I think when I had Zach, McKay wanted to act and play that he was actually her baby.
I was taking photos of McKay when DEVAN decided to be silly and jump into the photo... well, of course, now he is on the blog. He does fit into our family!!!!
What can I say... boys will be boys. I think the silly photos helped McKay and us to not be so emotional right before we had to say goodbye.
We took lots of photos that day. SUCH wonderful good and tender moments we had. I know I will be so thrilled each week to get her letters.
The workshops in Italy start tomorrow. It is amazingly beautiful here and I love all the walking up and down the hills all day. I am mad at myself for not bringing better walking shoes. Today we even had lightening and thunder showers today. It is almost 1 am here and I am still on USA time and can't seem to get acclimated yet. I am loving being here with the women and the other teachers. I am going to try to force myself to actually sleep tonight.
I am in Italy.... crazy right? This has been a long (long) day to get here. I am majorly tired. I should be used to this right? My flight was from SLC to LAX... then to Germany. I flew on Air Berlin. This was a first for me. Then the next flight was into Milan, Italy. We are lucky that we made our flight to milan so <i am grateful. I can't wait to take countless photos and teach in this beautiful country.the best thing was waking up to a letter that mckay had mailed to the house. taylor emailed the letter to us. i am so happy. she is doing well. they are teaching and talking to her only in Spanish. She said she can understand more than she can talk. so proud of her..... okay... on our way to Bellagio now... <i am so thankful to be here.I wanted to share a special Guest Designer Post from Alissa Fast. I have been a HUGE huge fan of her work and was thrilled to see what she created. I love her chic simple style. I hope you do too!
I'm Alissa Fast and I live in Ferndale, WA with my husband of 26 years and our sweet little cat, who happens to be a Hurricane Katrina Survivor from New Orleans. I work full time for a wireless carrier and in my spare time I scrapbook and dabble in photography, I'm working to build up a small client base in my area.
I created this project with the new Summer Stories collection from a framed box at Marshell's. The pages are 6x8 to easily add photos. There are bags to hold "stuff" and I included the stitched journal from the collection to write things in. I see this as something I can just drop photo's and stuff in during the summer and can come back to finish the pages later. It's like a loose leaf mini book!
I have been on the Cocoa Daisy Design Team for just over 2 years and joined the Evalicious Design Team in January this year. Most recently, I have joined the new Life Documented Design Team at Simple Stories.
When I'm not scrapbooking, or working, I enjoy spending time with my husband or my mom or my sweet little great niece and nephew.
I loved working with the new Summer Stories line. The colors and designs are beautiful and work well with many themes. Thank you, Teresa for having me as your guest designer.

McKay is in the MTC in Provo Utah. I did not expect to feel so sad and happy at the same time. How is this possible? One minute I am crying and the next I am thinking how wonderful this is. The tears have flowed often and I hope that it gets easier... right now, it's honestly hard. It makes me realize how military and other missionary parents and family feel. It has really given a new perspective on sacrifice. We started yesterday with tears on and off. McKay finally was more emotional and crying. She was scared and I wanted to be more "upbeat" to not make her more nervous. She was so nervous thinking she wouldn't be a good missionary and also that she will be learning to speak Spanish. She cried when she talked to her dad and Taylor. She said she did not want to say goodbyes anymore since it was so hard on her. I tried to keep the conversations as light/fun as possible.
Ty, the boys and I drove McKay to Provo. We met Devan and Gentry and went to JDAWGS to eat lunch (McKay's choice). I avoided looking at McKay in the eyes. She kept tearing up. We then went to YOGURTLAND and then to the Provo Temple to take photos together. She was scheduled to be dropped off at the MTC at 1:30 pm. She was excited and very nervous. She has always wanted to serve a mission. I reminded her how this was her dream and that I was so thankful she was able to do this. This is completely voluntary and a missionary's choice to go serve.
As we walked from the temple to the car, I just could not stop the tears from flowing. I then felt horrible. I knew that I needed to be strong. As we drove to into the MTC parking lot, they had so many missionaries waving and welcoming the new missionaries. They were so friendly and smiling. We pulled up to the curb and they came to the car to greet and take McKay with them. I gave her the biggest hug and told her how proud I was of her and how much I loved her. They got her two big 50 lb bags out of our trunk and I saw Ty give her a big hug. Then I knew it was time to go.
McKay walked over to me and hugged me again and said..." I love you so much mommy." Oh my... it was hard to leave her. I think they are smart to have the quick drop offs. I got in the car and just cried and cried. I really hope she did not see me or realize how hard today was for me. I wonder if all missionary mom's do this or am I the only one who couldn't control the flood gates?
I am going to Italy this morning and I should have come home and packed. I couldn't. I could have come home and went right to bed but I knew this was not at all good for me.
I spent the entire day cleaning her room. I opened all her dressers and washed every single item of clothes that she owns. I washed, folded and put them all back neatly. I organized all her jewerly and stuff she had not done. I think she put it off and since I could not be with her, I wanted to feel close to her. I deep cleaned her room and did her laundry. I just needed to be alone and allow myself to feel sad. Then of course, there is the guilt that I feel for feeling sad. Oh my... I need to be stronger and realize what a great thing she is doing. I am just being honest in that I am having major heartache missing her. I know in time it will get easier... or that is my hope. I just think last night was the hardest because I was more worried about her. This morning a new perspective and I KNOW she is going to love her mission and do well. I am so thankful for weekly emails, a few phone calls and that I can send her packages and letters. I am even going to join a missionary mom group- I want ideas on how to truly support her and Seth.
I thought I would share photos from her farewell on Sunday. I wish that Matt and Kayla and the kids could have been here but they had just been here for Gentry's wedding. It was the perfect weekend and day to come together to tell her goodbye.
I wanted to make sure I shared the photo with my cute husband Ty. He doesn't like to have his photo taken and I am so thankful for a photo on Fathers Day and McKay's farewell.
Just call me puffy eyes... crying the last week- entirely way too much. I should clarify so many are good tears. We have laughed and cried and had a great time preparing her to go. I am so happy for her.
My three girls. Gentry, McKay and Taylor. So thankful that they are truly best friends. They are super close to Kayla too. I look forward to the day Kayla & Matt moves back with the babies so too. They hope to move back to Utah some day so that we are all closer.
Sister McKay Pier- Seattle Washington Spanish Speaking Mission. She will serve until December 16, 2014.
Okay... I will post the other photos soon. I am truly thankful for McKay and all my children. They mean the world to me. Our family is super close. I am so thankful that I have taught them that family is everything. *missing Seth and Matt- yes, 7 kids!!!!! That is what I am most HAPPY about... my kids get it. They are all so close. Now we have Kayla and Devan and we just love them so much. It's true LOVE GROWS!!!!
I'm up early today. I just packed for Italy. Thankful for a great nights sleep and feeling comforted in KNOWING that McKay will be fine. I have faith in her and what she is doing. I am even sending her a package today before I head to the airport. She forget a few things. Yes, that is so typical her. I love this about her.
Italy here we come!!!!!!!!!
I am so thankful for a great farewell and open house yesterday. THIS photo means so much to me...
It was a great day. I know she is ready to go and will be a wonderful missionary. (thank you Ty for taking the photo) It was a great Father's Day too. I am thankful for my family!!! I will share more photos later from the day.
Today you can see a new TC show segment at www.mycraftchannel.com. This is a preview of my show today.
I am so excited!! Last month we asked Leslie Ashe to be a guest designer on the team and her work was so well received that we asked her to be a part of the team and she accepted!! Welcome to the team Leslie, we are so excited to have you!! If you missed her guest spot from May you can see it here: http://bit.ly/Z0iCCC
Leslie creates layouts that have a fun and unique look! You can see in her layout below where she matted her photo on one of the new mini file folders that she unfolded! I love how she drew on the heart!
I love all of the textures Leslie created using the Summer Stories collection! I am addicted to this beautiful line.
Thank you Leslie and congratulations!! We are all so excited to have you on the Teresa Collins design team!
You can see more of Leslie's work on her blog here: http://leslieashe.blogspot.com/
I am off to go get my missionary ready. More photos later!!!!
I got up this morning at 4am. I could not sleep. I don't know if it's just me, but when I have so many things on my mind... I can't sleep. Today we have McKay's farewell during our church Sacrament meeting. This means she will talk to the church congregation today before she leaves for the MTC (Missionary Training Center) this coming Wednesday. McKay is talking about an assigned topic (Obedience) and about her personal story on her desire to go on a mission. I am so proud of her and her sacrifice to go serve others. I wish all of you that haven't had the chance to meet her could. She is truly a special young woman. I think her kindness towards others is something that I most admire.
Taylor took photos of her this past week for her mission. I wanted to share them today since it is her farewell.
She's now nineteen years old and has recently completed three semesters at Brigham Young University. This girl has been blessed to have so many great friends and she easily makes friends.
Yes, she does have these crazy beautiful light blue eyes. She is truly beautiful on the inside and it radiates to her outside. She is often asked if she is wearing "contacts" to make her eyes so blue.
I know that as much as this mission is going to help others- I think the person it will truly help the most is her. I believe by serving others and sacrifice we truly learn the pure love of Christ.
It's true that you LOVE those that you serve. I think that is why mothers love their children so deeply. (and Fathers!!!!)
I want to personally thank all my family, friends, neighbors, her friends and teachers who have helped me raise her. Wow, it takes a village. I know my mother would have been so proud of her. I know that our family will truly miss her but we are so thankful for her and her example. It's hard to let her go, but we are thankful for her desire and her worthiness.
I created a FAREWELL missionary book that I will have out today with these photos. After our meeting today where she gives her talk, often the families will have a OPEN HOUSE. This is where anyone who wants to come and say goodbye to the missionary does. Of course, there is lots of food and it's a time to say goodbye. You never know how many friends and family will show up to send them off. I think I have enough food for about 150-200 people. Since it is also Father's Day I am not sure how many people will actually be able to come.
Today is Father's day. I want to wish all the Father's and men out there a special Father's day. I hope you are surrounded by love and children who appreciate you! I am truly thankful that my children have been blessed with a Father who loves them so much and who has truly "been there" to teach them and help them along the way. Since I did not really have a Father who did this for me, I always am thankful to know that I have a Heavenly Father who does love me. Today is going to be amazing. So much to celebrate and be appreciative about.
HAPPY FATHERS DAY Ty!!!!!!
I wanted to post some more photos from my time in Puerto Rico. It was really just one of those events that really changed me as a person. I gained so much insight about myself in that short amount of time. Lately, I have been more serious and have not had much "fun" in my life. I have let running my business sometimes be a constant thought and worry. When I went to Puerto Rico and saw all the time that everyone was having and how much they just enjoy life- I knew I needed to have more fun in my life. I really need to RELAX more.
These girls have been together for YEARS. They get together once a month and craft together. They talk on the phone each day and they are FRIENDS beyond the once a month. They are "there" for each other and heavily involved in each others lifes. The connections were so strong and I felt them. I wish I had a group of women like them in my own life. I need to make time to do this. I loved watching them and talking to them.
I adored this lady. She gave me this most beautiful bracelet that I am wearing. It is the Father's prayer. I just was beyond touched by her story. Her family needs to know what she does really matters. I am thankful for her story.
Crafters are cool and beautiful. When I saw her I told her that she looked like Heidi Klum. She was stunning. It was so nice to get to meet her.
Everyone was so happy and excited to be at the event. It was just so inspiring to me to know that the industry is so exciting here. The feeling was so positive and upbeat.
I so enjoyed meeting this cute girl. She came to meet me and I just felt such a instant connection. I was so welcomed at the event and it just meant so much to me.
Connections. That is truly what it is all about. It is always very important to me to do this. I want to get to know them and hope they get to know me.
There are no rules in crafting. It is enjoying the experience.
How cute are these girls???????
Oh how I loved their spirit. They were so very sweet and kind to me. I enjoyed getting to know!!!!! I loved their shirts too.
I am wearing a beautiful necklace here that she gave me. It was made by her friend in Venezuela. I am still wearing it too. I love it. I am just so thankful to meet each and every person at the event. I simply adored the women and can't wait to go back again.
Today I am preparing all the food for the farewell for McKay. I just want it to be very special for her. I am loving having Gentry and Devan here for the weekend. They are so happy and doing so well. So very much to be thankful for!!!!
Wow... is this week flying by!
I am getting ready for McKays farewell and open house this Sunday. I am buying and preparing lots of food for our family and friends to come and say goodbye to McKay. She is almost done packing and we are putting things in storage, and some clothes she is giving away since it will be 18 months before she will wear them again. She figures if she doesn't wear the items now it's best to go ahead and give them away and not store them.
This week has been day by day for me. My heart is truly happy for her. Her desires are righteous and I know she will be a light to others. I know as her mother I will miss her like crazy. She is my baby (yes, always will be) and our connection is very strong. I can look in her eyes and know what she is feeling. I am trying to be strong and not cry all the time. Okay- I did break down Wednesday in the grocery store produce department. ha! She just hugged me. She is right... it's a very good thing.
This week I prepared my sales staff to go to a big show (like a pre-CHA) next week. My new CHA Summer lines came in and they are BEAUTIFUL. I was making samples every night this week. I am running on 4 hours of sleep and last night I crashed at 7:30 am. No kidding and I slept until 8 am this morning. I did samples that I love. I did my workshops for my event Inspiration Unlimited (Vegas- SOLD OUT!- but you can get on the waiting list for next year), Archivers workshops- big workshops and I have a longer time to teach them and I did projects for the event next week and the display boards. Whew...
It was a lot and yet I love it. I am so passionate about what I do. CHA had a meeting yesterday in Sandy for the Craft and Hobby direction and show. We as manufacturers want this industry to THRIVE and grow. Some make think... Scrapbooking... Scrapbooking is not cool. Let me tell you... not only is it COOL but I am doing something meaningful and it has purpose. I am so proud to say I am a scrapbooker and what I create does matter. I am so thankful for my support. My company is growing and thriving and I owe it to YOU. This economy is not the best. I often (pray) and (pray) and analyze why I am doing well in a horrible economy. I know it is because of you. I know that I create from the HEART and I want a message to be felt and a desire to create to come when you see and use my products. SUPPORT you local scrapbook stores... PLEASE or they will all go away. Think of ways to support them- have a birthday party at your local scrapbook party. Have your daughters or sons parties there and let them create and have a fun time. Oh, I could go on. I love what I do.
Well, I have so many more things to share and photos from Puerto Rico still. They are coming. I'm off to walk... yes, 5 miles this morning. Have a great Friday!!!!!
McKay has her MISSION farewell this Sunday at Church. It will be at our meeting house in Murray at 12:50 pm. Friends and family are invited and we are hosting a OPEN HOUSE at our home after. I am so proud of her and we are getting her all ready to go. She is starting to pack and trying to get everything she needs into her TWO suitcases. Yes, I tend to cry a few tears each day.
For now... I wanted to share Keisha's latest blog post. She is truly amazing!!!!!
You simply have to have fun! I will tell you that this event is unlike any event I have EVER went to. If you win a prize- you dance, dancing and crafting go hand and hand here. The first class I was a little shy about dancing in any way. Oh, ask my kids- I have ZERO coordination. However, I knew I needed to go "beyond my comfort zone." Yes, there MIGHT be videos and photos of me dancing. MIGHT- ha!!!!!
The weather is GORGEOUS. This is the view outside my hotel room-
I came to Puerto Rico due to this sweet girl. She told me she was my SUPER FAN. I am touched. I love her. I asked her if we could sit together at lunch today. We did and I hope she knows that I LOVED getting to know her. I guess she begged Yamille to ask me to come teach. Thanks to her and the other girls asking Yamille to have me come teach... I'm here. So thank you SUPER GIRL. I am now YOUR SUPER FAN!!!!!! She knew all my collection names, my kids, where I had traveled, my My Craft Channel episodes. I was BEYOND super touched. Did I mention this girl can DANCE!!!!!
*HOTEL VIEW FROM MY ROOM.
Oh how I love that these beautiful girls who are only 13 and 15 years old took the workshops here. They are so talented! They are my boys ages and so it was cool to have them here. My boys would never think girls this age would want to do this.
I taught THREE workshops today. They were all FULL of beautiful talented women. This was the VIP day. Tomorrow we have 100 more women in addition to the VIP attendees. I had the most wonderful assistant today. She translated me into Spanish for those who did not understand me. They had girls from Venezuela and Brazil here. Everyone was so grateful and easy going. They simply wanted to be together and have fun.
Cheering was part of the package and I enjoyed it so much. I wish we all did this in all my workshops. It was a great way to just "relax" and be in the moment.
Smiling- happiness truly is contagious!!!!!
Holding up their Stationery Noted Memory Keeper books.
After three- four hour workshop (we were all tired but smiling)- we met as a group and listened to the band. They played and EVERYONE danced. It was honestly so not like me to dance and let loose... but I did it and I need to do this more. It was so much fun! I am thinking Zumba will be on my list to do when I go back home. OVER the TOP fun!!!!
So thankful to have my dear friend Vicki Boutin here with me. She is just a pro at teaching and crafting. She has taught at my IU event. I love events when we can see each other. She oozes creativity and talent. Oh... but did you know this girl can DANCE? Oh yes, she is a ZUMBA queen. She was killing it and I could not even hope to compare. Thankful we are friends and could see each other here.
Oh, I had to say I love these girls. They were in my third workshop. They had these COOL t-shirts on. Some were rocking purple hair. Aren't they super adorable? I've made new friends here and I'm thankful.
The last photo was after we had danced a lot and decided to go to dinner. It was after 9pm.
This was my first time meeting Frank (Prima Marketing) too. He was a super sweet guy. We had dinner at 10PM. It was a very long day. It was a long and very rewarding day. I wish you all could come and experience this amazing culture and love for LIFE, CRAFTING and EACH OTHER. I am better for having been here.
Time for bed- I am going on very little sleep and I have FOUR- three hour workshops tomorrow. I am definitely looking forward to it.
By the way... I wanted to share this super silly photo from our trip to New Zealand-
I always say BE in your photos. Be a part of your story. How thankful that I had these silly photo with McKay. Trust me- memories need to be documented. Life is too wonderful to not do so. I will FOREVER cherish these photos. PS McKay you rocked the PINK hair.
Today was "kind of" the last day of school for my boys. Tomorrow is the actual last day- year book signing for 3 hours. Zach had an award ceremony since he is in 9th grade (they go to high school in 10-12th where we live) today. He got the Math Award for the 9th grade, some sports awards and a award for being 4.0 (the highest you can get in our school system) for all 7th, 8th and 9th grade. Honestly, I admire him. He focuses on academics and balances baseball (which is a big commitment of time).
Yes, he did not want this photo taken. I am just thankful he let's me take them anyway. He started baseball tonight- he plays on two teams, plus a traveling team. He will play games every single night but Sundays (no games). Okay... you may think that is a ton. It is so many games and you would think he would get sick of it but this it is his love and passion. He came home from the game tonight and asked his dad to go in the batting cage to practice some things with him.
IN two weeks... McKay is leaving for the MTC- Missionary Training Center.
Oh my heart is torn between exploding with happiness at her desire to serve others and knowing she will be gone for 18 months. Zach is having a hard time knowing she will be gone.
Tomorrow, I am headed for a long day traveling to Puerto Rico to teach. McKay, Taylor, Rachel and Josilyn are driving to Anaheim to see Matt and his family and go to Disneyland together. I love this. I'm thankful for Kayla and Matt for letting them stay with them. It will be a short 4 day trip for them. I know this will be a great weekend for McKay to enjoy the family, Disneyland and the beach before she leaves.
Family and Friends- McKays farewell will be on Sunday June 16th if you would like to come. She will be talking in church. It will be at 12:50 pm at our church. We would love to see all of you and we are having a open house at our home immediately following church. We would love to have you all there!
I wanted to share photos from our last two days in NZ. I loved this trip!!!!
I think I love this photo. It reminds me of being in Jodi's car and having the most amazing ride throughout the country side. The green & lush landscape, the animals (sheep), the long winding rooms... it was just so beyond beautiful.
McKay and I together. I loved having the one on one time with her. So important when you have as many children as I do. I always knew I wanted a large family. I gave birth to FIVE amazing children. I have two wonderful bonus sons. This is the ultimate gift(s).
We went to the ferry to head to Waiheke Island. This was on our last day. We were meeting Michele and Michelle to go ziplining. I was more than nervous but really wanted to do it.
We were at the very top of island.
They had McKay show us how to put on our gear. They said it would give us all an instant "butt lift." It was uplifting. ha!
My favorite photo from the day- right before we all went on one of three lines into the bush. Michelle, Michele, McKay, ME, Maggie and TC. We were all a little nervous. McKay and I decided to go first. We went down in pairs. The view from the top of the island- WOW! We went down all three lines and then had to walk about 30 minutes from the bottom- through the bush- to the top of island.
Our safety was top priority to the guides. I felt comfortable the entire time and safe. I think that is why I could allow myself to enjoy the experience.
Maggie and McKay. So thankful that Maggie invited us to stay at her home for two days after the event. She really made us feel welcome. It was wonderful to get to know her.
A cool view of the guides getting McKay ready to come down from doing a ride.
All safe... we loved it so much. It was the perfect day spent with amazing friends. THANK YOU Michele for coming and going with us. (& Michelle).
Then we went to lunch before we had to go to the ferry and race to the airport to come home.
We had a yummy lunch here. I am truly grateful for this trip. Seeing the world always makes me even more appreciative for life, for God's creations and I feel so blessed to get to meet new friends around the world.
I did not expect to being going back next year. When they asked me after the event- I immediately said YES! I am looking forward to going again.
Now for a few hours of sleep before the next journey...
I had so many photos and I wanted to share more of them with you today.
Okay... I had no idea how hard it was going to be for me to recover from so many back to back events in my life. We had Gentry's wedding, Zach played in the State regionals for baseball (the same week) and I had returned from Portugal and then left for New Zealand the day after the wedding. Whew... it was a lot. After we got home, I really just tried to "regroup." I slept alot and even read some books. I am now 100% back to normal and so thankful for the few days to just be with my family.
Gentry is home from her honeymoon in Park City and then a family trip to Anaheim (Disneyland). They just got home and are ready to settle in to "real" life.
I wanted to share this months TC retailer class kit- it is shipping soon. You can order the kits (retailers) directly from Brian or Jared at the office.
I printed out my cell phone photos that are 4x4 that I had printed in instagram size. (walgreens app) I love it! I did the entire mini book from the 6x6 paper pad- Now & Then. I love how it turned out!
I have so many photos to share from NZ. I am going to share them this week. I had the BEST time. I am so honored and thankful to be asked back to teach at the event in 2014. This was a trip that I will forever cherish. I went with my McKay and we just enjoyed our time together so much.
The journey began. I was so excited that TC was going on the trip to NZ too. She went with McKay and I on the long journey. She went as a student to the event. We were tired from the wedding and decided to wear our sweatshirts and relax as much as possible on the 19 hours to NZ.
This was my first time on AIR NEW ZEALAND. It was a great airline and I really enjoyed the LONG flight there. I am lucky in that I normally can sleep on the long flights.
We arrived and we absolutely loved it. It was so green and beautiful. It was raining on and off for the first few days. It was breathtaking!
I went from the airport arriving on Friday morning and then taught two workshops that day. EVERYONE was so super nice. I really enjoyed the women at the event. I was really tired about 6 pm and all I could think about was sleeping. ha! I really enjoyed the group dinner on Friday night. Fabulous food!
This was the FIRST year of the event. Oh my... sold out and they had women from Australia, New Zealand and America. If you would like to go next year- everyone is welcome to join us. I know it will be something amazing again. They are having Joey Otlo (BAZZILL), Aimee and Diane (Graphic 45) and ME as instructors!!!!! It is the same dates as this year too.
It was truly my biggest blessing to get to know these sweet women. I was inspired by their stories and their heart. They are all so talented too.
I am super thankful that McKay helped me so much during the event. She did the prizes and everyone was so sweet to her. They gave her treats and gifts and she was able to go mtn biking with Staci (Michele's niece). It was so much fun for her to get to go out in the bush and enjoy the day with Staci.
This was Friday night. They did a photo booth and it was so much fun. We were really feeling tired by this point, but so enjoyed all the girls here. *thank you Ally so much for the bracelet's. Oh my... we loved them!!!!! Such good memories with these beautiful girls. PS Maggie you were so ELLEN!!!! My photos did not come out. YOU nailed it.
I had to share our messy hotel room. Yes, I am normally a lot neater. I have to say McKay is a "little" messier. I embraced it. It was so fun to just have so much fun together. I could not sleep past 4am. It was hard for me to adjust to the time difference. I just woke up and then would read until it was time to get up and shower.
This is our last trip together until after her mission. She leaves in 16 days. She is so excited and I am so thankful she has a desire to do this.
I really appreciated the TA's. They were all OVER THE TOP amazing. I wish they were at all my events. They really helped so much. Michele and Jodi truly paid attention to all the details and really created an "experience" for all that attended. I was so impressed and felt so honored to be there.
I loved the hotel that the event is held at.
Sunday morning breakfast to support Breast Cancer. I was really thankful to go to church at the Onehunga ward. We so loved the experience.
Okay... more photos tomorrow. I guess you can tell by now... I loved every second of my trip to New Zealand.
McKay went mountain biking with Stacy (Michele's neice)in the bush and has really enjoyed it. I am truly in love with the country and the scenery. It has been lightly raining and it's definitely Fall here. I am so enjoying how beautiful it is.
Today we are going to the ocean and having lunch. It is the last day that Donna D and Heidi S. will be with us. We are so enjoying this trip. As International guests they have truly made us feel so welcome. They gave us gifts for coming last night and even gave us a KIWI stuffed animal (bird) and KIWI POO (it was chocolate covered raisins). I am horrible at pronouncing the names of all the cities and the volcanoes here. ha!
So today is all about sightseeing and enjoying this beautiful time and place with my daughter. My heart is OVER joyed. I felt such a connectiion here with the women. The girls from NZ and Australia. They are truly special and I gained so much more than I'm sure gave them. I love teaching and sharing my passion and WHY I document and why I feel it's so important to be YOUR family and personal historian.
I am finally on NZ time. I slept 7 hours last night and I feel GREAT!!!!!! We have been at the hotel and today are going to stay at Maggies home until we leave. She also taught at the event. I adore her and know we will be friends well beyond this event. I truly hope to come back again. I told the Michele and Jodi that I can't WAIT to come back.
PS... I miss my family. I really appreciate Ty being the best dad and husband. I love that McKay and I have a couple of days to be together here. This is a special time for us.
McKay and I are having the BEST time. The event is now over and it was so wonderful and special. The women were so very appreciative that we had come. I love the women here. The event coordinators- Michele and Jodi TRULY have outdone themselves. I would come back in a second. The event was well run and they really did do a great job. It was their FIRST event. I am so thankful that I was asked to come.
After the event ended, we went to church. They have our church here and we googled and found the local meetinghouse. It was perfect timing and the event took dropped us off. I can't tell you how much it meant to both McKay and I to be able to go. It was a Polynesian ward. Needless to say, we kind of stuck out with our light coloring and eyes. They were so friendly. They wanted to know why we had come all the way from Utah. One young man spoke- he had just returned from a 2 year mission for the church. It was uplifting and spiritual and McKay has decided she will come home from her mission and come back. Yes, he was very good looking and so McKay jokes she would marry him in the future. Ha!I am truly thankful for today. I loved watched the sweet polynesian families and they have strong family bonds. It was beautiful to behold.
We are having a special teachers, events, and helpers dinner tonight at Maggie's house. I am so looking forward to this. Tomorrow we are sightseeing all day. Can't wait!!!!!
I made it. I am in the hotel lobby since I don't have internet access. I think it's a good thing that I can really just enjoy being here. First, I had the best flight over here. I am now a fan of AIR NEW ZEALAND. I watched two movies- Warm Bodies and Parental Guidance and slept for 5 hours of the 12.5 hr flight from San Francisco.
The country is BEAUTIFUL. The hotel is amazing!!!! Jodi and Michele have went above and beyond. The event is full of beautiful women. They have about 40 Australian girls here as well. It is such a well organzied event.
I taught all day yesterday after arriving at 6am. Yes, major jet lag going on. Heidi told me that around 6 pm last night I would be hating life. She was right. I was not even able to "think" around 9 pm. They did a skit night and Maggie played ELLEN and her special guests were Donna Downey, Heidi Swapp and I. It was so funny. However, I was not quite all there being so tired. They played games like on the show and several girls won BIG prizes from TC Stampmaker, Craftwell and XYRON- (tc mega runners, stickmakers). WOW, I am blessed to have so much support with the companies that I design and work with. I really APPRECIATE THIS!!!
Today I am up way early- I could not sleep!!! I am teaching three workshops and we have a special dinner tonight with girls who "WON" dinner with the international teachers. I am pretty excited about this.
Okay... I miss my family. Gentry is on here honeymoon. My husband tells me that the family is great and fine. I am so enjoying my sweet McKay. She loves it here! The women are wanting photos with her and giving her sweets and cards. We feel so welcome!!!!
I am excited to be here. If you have never come... you would love it!
Oh, I know I have been absent here for a few days. It has been so busy with family & friends coming in for the wedding. My sister Shelley flew from NC to be here. Everyone here loves her and loves to hear her southern accent. Zach had a game yesterday and they won. That means they play today (play until they lose). I am up and we are all going to Taylors home- to let the bridesmaids and Gentry get "dressed." The photographer will be there as well.
MY heart is overflowing. My Gentry is marrying her best friend. I am so happy for them. I wanted to share the just a couple of photos from the dinner last night. Devan's family hosted the family dinner at BLUE LEMON in Highland Utah. It was YUMMY! However, the best part was celebrating Devan and Gentry.
I am one very thankful mother. They found each other and they are marrying their best friend.
I love that everyone is so happy and my kids are truly just estatic that Devan... they like to call him "devbot" is going to be one of us- FAMILY. I told him he was stuck with us forever. He was happy about this.
This is my crazy, funny, real, kind and amazing sister Shelley. I love her so much and having her here has meant more than words can say.
Okay... I admit it I am the OLDER sister. I am three years older than Shelley and she is the one who helps guide me. She gives me awesome (REAL) advice. I love you so much Shelley!!!!
This is Gentry- she is still my baby girl. Oh my... emotional me. I am forever grateful that God gave me her to love and raise. She is so special and I kept crying last night during the family presentation.
I want to thank the Bartholomews for hosting the most yummy and special family dinner last night at the BLUE LEMON. It was very special for the couple.
They had each of the tables beautifully decorated and adorned with the wedding colors. Ann (Devan's mother) is so sweet and just did a great job at this.
They made this boxes up and wrapped them for each guest that came. Yes, lots of chocolate was inside. Somehow my box disappeared. Have I mentioned my husband loves chocolate?
I think the slideshow they showed of Gentry and Devan from a baby, growing up and meeting each other was so sweet. I cried so many tears, laughed a lot (how did I dress her that way and think it was cute? ha!!!!) and just loved the feelings of knowing they had found each other. Devan played this song to their photos-
How could a mother not feel overjoyed to know that their daughter is so loved and cherished by the man that is marrying them?
Devan then played a song on the piano that he wrote and composed just for her. It was "Gentry's Song." My heart was on overflow MUSH by then. I love you Devan. He is so talented and the song spoke to my soul. He loves her and she loves him.
In a few hours... TODAY... they will be married.
I am so happy!!!!
I am printing the bridals and the first look photos of Gentry and Devan. We are going to frame them for the reception. They were so beautiful and I LOVED them! I can't wait to share. I am GIDDY excited for the wedding and for the celebration. I love that weddings bring us together. At least they should!!! I am happy to say I am even packing for NZ early. My daughter McKay going with me is just the most fabulous meaningful thing to me. I just LOVE being a mother. It is my greatest accomplishment and joy.
Okay.. on the design team blog today is my special guest designer for MAY. Drum Roll... Leslie Ashe. She is amazing and talented. I am so in love with what she created.
You can download this month's FREE 8.5x11 TC Stampmaker from Photocentric and make your own cards from the sheet.
*using the 6x6 paper pad.
*I LOVE the file folders and created a book to give him.
*card from 12x12 He Said papers and garland (glitter).
I made this book from my 6x6 He Said paper pad. I love it!!!!
Okay... back to wedding mode. Hope you have a great weekend.
Oh my... life is so wonderful!!!!!
I am choosing to embrace all that I have on "my plate" right now. Yesterday was amazing. We went to the temple with Gentry. It was very special and I was able to escort her since it was her first time. Gentry looked beautiful and seeing Devan with her was sweet. I was overcome with thankfulness to have all three of my girls together. We are now FIVE days from the wedding. They are getting married in the Draper Temple.
Yesterday, Zachs team played Maple Mountain baseball team. The pitcher was amazing! He struck out 15 of our players- super great curve ball, fastball and can throw junk. WOW! He impressed me. He will be playing at BYU next year. They will be lucky to have him. Our team lost by 3 runs, but Zach was so happy that he hit off of him and changed the game from a no hitter. He caught great and even though they lost it worked out. Now they play on MONDAY- the day before the wedding. I am excited that my family, sister and Amy who are coming from out of state can go watch him play. Then we have the family dinner on Monday night. Oh... I am loving this time.
This is Zach protecting the plate yesterday. He was out!
He threw the ball to get a double play- throwing to first base. The crowd was SO LOUD. They had bases loaded and we got two outs here. Exciting game!!!
State playoffs will continue on Monday. If they lose they are out of the playoffs.
I had some questions about Craftwell. I have designed many new embossing folders and MORE. You will be able to find the products directly through Craftwell and the places that they distribute. I will be able to share more and where to find them as soon as they become available. If you call my office to order them, Brian will happily sent you to Craftwell. We are all so excited about this new partnership!
I'm at my office today working on TWO new collections. I am feeling inspired. I was up at 4am this morning with a new line in my head. I can't sleep and know it's time to start the day. Do you do this too? ahhh... so me.
This is going to be a crazy fun week for our family. I have family and friends flying to Utah for the wedding. I am so thrilled that my friends and my sister is coming. I am feeling so thankful for this. It's a HUGE big deal for me to have them all here. I want them to know how much it means. Gentry has been getting so many gifts and that is so nice and thoughtful. Many of you have sent gifts and well wishes. THANK YOU! The wedding is in 6 days. I want to think we are prepared.
I wanted to share a photo that CRAFTWELL had online yesterday-
Yes, I am doing LETTER SIZE embossing folders. I am eager to be able to have them debuted so that everyone can see how cool they are.
Yesterday Zachs high school baseball team played their first game in State playoffs. They played one yesterday and play again today. They did well and I was so happy.
I love that the kids came to support him. Grandma was even there. I know these are times that although at 15 years old, he does not say how much it means... it does.
Tonight after the game, I am going to the temple with Gentry. This is her first time. My heart is emotional. I feel so much happiness in her decisions to be married and go to the temple. I think it is to be expected that I am a "bit" emotional this week. Thankfully we are taking it day and day and things are going smooth.
Now I wanted to share a project designed by Julie Jacob.
"Today I am continuing with a project I shared on National Scrapbooking Day.
It's an altered book, which I turned into a gratitude journal for June.
You can find the tutorial for making the cover, pages, and days 1-5 HERE.
Today I want to share days 6-10. :)
1. Cut a piece of Summer Stories (SS) Flowers paper 4x7.5". I assemble my page and THEN glue it into the book. Way easier, as this book is NOT a lay flat book. :)
2. Cut the colored, lined index card from the Memories (M) Ledger card paper. Stamp I am thankful at the bottom, and adhere.
3. Add a strip of gold glitter scallop border beneath. Adhere chipboard LOVE pennant to top right, and the 'notes' SS die cut above the date on the index card.
4. Stamp the date and add a gold 6 (Thickers).
5. Glue whole piece into the book, then add black camera washi tape to left edge.
1. Adhere 'You & Me' SS die cut to top of book page...leave room at the bottom to slide notebook paper underneath. I kind of already decided this would be an 'I'm thankful for us' page.
2. Cut a piece of M Ledger Card paper (white ledger side) 3.5 x 5.5". Slide under you & me and adhere.
Add US pennant. Stamp I am thankful on SS Filigree paper (woodgrain side) and adhere.
3. Add chipboard button, SS enamel dots & the 7 (Thickers.)
4. Stamp the date and add the gray ruler washi tape to the bottom of the page.
5. I used my McGill tab punch and M Calendar paper (pink chevron side) to make the top tab. The numbers are from the Memories chipboard pieces. The back of the tab has the 8 on it.
The next two pages.
1. Cut a piece of M Subway Calendar paper (gray dot side) to 3.5 x 6.5".
2. Add the Remember die cut M piece. Cut the 8 from the SS Bingo paper (yellow numbers side) and adhere. I sewed beneath the remember...again, before you glue it into the book. :)
3. Add the die cut SS Just Because piece to the bottom.
4. Adhere the pennant, and stamp the date on it. Stamp I am thankful above it...then punch out Love This circle from the M Dots paper.
1. For this page I used the second to largest M file folder. The one with the different ledger cards on it. There's lots of room inside for journaling, or adding a picture or two.
2. Add a 1 3/4" strip of SS Stripes paper (pink dot side). I sewed on mine after adding the other elements.
3. Add the Story 3x4 card from the SS Cards paper. Punch a large gold glitter heart and add. Stamp I am thankful at the bottom right corner.
4. Adhere the yellow Love and pink pennants to the top left corner. Stamp the date above the Story card.
5. Punch the clock from the M Dots paper and tuck in on right side. Add the yellow brad to the center...then the chipboard button and enamel dots. Last...cut out the 9 from the SS Bingo paper (yellow numbers side) and adhere.
1. Punch out the fleur de lis ledger piece from the M die cut sheet. Add the good times strip. Then stamp the date beneath. Stamp I am thankful at the top. Adhere.
2. From your scraps of paper, punch several (I did 9 using a Martha Stewart punch) medium butterflies.
Adhere over the page...Add enamel dots to some butterflies...also the M 10 chipboard piece to another.
There you go...the first 10 days of June!
Have a great Monday... :)
