I can't help myself- sneak peek!

I have to say that this time of the year is always super busy for me. We have baseball everyday but Sunday, CHA deadlines, drill team stuff (for me), and yesterday I filmed my first few shows for the Craft online TV Network. I am constantly on the go...and I really have to plan my time. I work out in the mornings so that I start my day off right. I am trying to go to bed earlier too. It really helps to face the tough workouts and all the things to do with having a lot of kids and a scrapbook company.

I woke up this morning and thought- today is so FABULOUS and I am going to share a sneak peek of one of my new collections: HAUNTED HALLOWS.

 
 

 I know I mentioned before that I did a new HALLOWEEN line. I am so in love with this line! This gorgeous project is by Collette Nederhoff. I love you like the little peek.

I thought I would continue to share some of the beautiful creations by my design team. This layout is using the new 12x12 NOTATIONS paper. Love this calendar page by Amanda Jones. She also used my boy collection, "On the Edge."

I loved seeing this HAPPY layout by Julie Jacob. She used the boy line- distressed gray dots and added the pink mist to change it up! *blingage gems, Taylor's clip. I really love how she made this paper feminine. Notice the cute way she used the doily on the right side page edge! 

This layout was part of the TOMBO/ TCD blog swap. Jamie Harder melts my heart with these photos of her husband with her beautiful little girls. THESE moments are precious. I love it! Products: Notations, On the Edge.

Also, I love the color and vibrancy of this layout by Colette Nederhoff. I love how she used the guitar paper!!!!!! 

I thought this pet layout by Yvonne Blair was just so cute! 

There is so many MORE layouts that I hope you will take the time to check out the design team blog. They do beautiful work and I'm so fortunate to have them on my team.

TODAY at the gym, it was especially grueling. In fact, I am having a hard time moving. I had to come home and get ready for my filming for the CRAFT TV Online Network tomorrow. I think DEADLINES really inspire me. I am finally all set to go. Did I mention that my kitchen looks like a craft station? Yes, my family is patient with me. 

 

If the truth be known....

As much as I am thrilled and excited to debut my new products, I don't LIKE how then the previous collections are then not focused on anymore and are considered "old" in  the crafting world. If I had to be honest, this is one of the very few things that disappoints me about crafting. So I thought I would share some of my favorite projects daily from my last release (see I am not using the word "old") until it's time to show and reveal my LATEST collections.

I loved Maridette Cachola's NOTATIONS album- 

I love that the kit came with all the papers and the binder. *** HINT HINT.... this was such a huge success that I will have a kit in a similar format as NOTATIONS album kit coming out at CHA again. 

Daily I am seeing ALL the creations and crafty goodness that my design team is creating. I am BLOWN away at their creativity and inspired. I can't wait to show you. THANK YOU GIRLS!!!! I am so thankful for their help in all that they do. 

Today, I was back at my gym since our vacation. I have to say that I am NOT giving it up! It is harder than I ever thought it would be. However, I feel like it pushes me beyond anything I would ever do on my own. PLUS, mentally working out each day keeps me feeling so happy! I even purchased my own 25 lb kettlebell so I could take it with me on my road trip to AZ last week. If you are not familiar with a kettlebell workout...google it... it's such a great workout!!!!!

which you will later use to make a stamp, stencil or embossing die or all 3!

FIRST SNEAK PEEK... a little one

Yesterday I had the opportunity to drive to Layton with my daughter Gentry to teach at the Memory Works event. It was really nice to be able to teach 100 women and get to see many familiar faces. My head sales director Nick went to met the woman and give out prizes as well. I was amazed at how many women had come from all over the USA. I taught a mini book with the NOTATIONS collection:

It was a very quick 1 hour 15 minute workshop. Here is the kit. THANKFUL that cell phones can take photos! I forgot to put my camera card in my camera. Ha!

The women and event organizers were beyond fabulous! Thanks Amber for inviting me. It is always so nice to met the people who read my blog and support my product lines. I am always touched and thankful for these moments. 

I was overwhelmed when I met Kim.

She came up to me right before I started my second class. She was so sweet and was so excited to met me. Kim told me that she has been waiting for FIVE years to get to met me. We talked and she expressed some very kind things that embarrassed me. I don't see myself any other than just "simply me..." However, I felt strongly that SHE was the one that HELPED me. It's hard to articulate in words, but it's just deeply humbling and amazing for ME to get to met and learn from Kim and the others at the events that I attend. Often, I get many emails from girls that I do not personally know. It is a connection of the heart. It is the things that I feel that I should share. 

It was one of those days yesterday. I met so many women in a short amount of time. We shared together. I found as I share my journey...my story...often the women feel safe to share with me the feelings of their journey. It is what I MOST love about teaching. It is those connections that empower me to keep doing WHAT and HOW I do. I hope this makes sense. THANK YOU KIM!!!!

I saw Martha from Scrapbook Daisy's again. LOVED going to her store this year to teach!!!!! I just LOVE being able to do this.

Last night, I took a crafting break. I have been doing projects for Scrapfest (teaching at Mall of America in Minnesota in September), CKU Reunion Event, and for my class on Thursday night during CHA.  I did SEVEN big projects in the past two days and taught at Memory Works. 

So I thought TONIGHT I will show a little - MY FIRST SNEAK PEEK of one of my collections and workshop that I will be teaching during CHA.

This is a collection called "CHRISTMAS HOME." I made this 6" w x 10" h mini album for the workshop. Yes, I have added beautiful stickers to this collection. The papers are heavyweight and textured. 

I added the most YUMMY green to this collection. I can't wait to show you more!

Today something VERY special happened. If you are in a stepfamily situation or second marriage, I think you will understand. Today in church my daughter McKay was giving a talk to the congregation. They let the youth give 5 minute talks to help them share their testimonies. McKay got up and talked about FAITH. She then specifically talked about what FAITH meant to her and how she knew that God was always with her. For a young girl at age 17, she spoke from the heart and talked about her relationship with God and how she knew Heavenly Father loves her and all of us. I started to get tears in my eyes. It was so sincere and sweet. McKay sat down and I looked over to my right at my husband. I noticed that he had tears in his eyes. You have to understand, he is not one to cry. In fact, I have never seen him cry in church. I knew that he was doing this because of his love of McKay. Yes, she is his stepdaughter. However, I know that he does not look at her as anything but his daughter too. When Tyler and I got married, she was only 2 years old. I was so moved to see the tender reactions of my husband and it made me love him even more. I can't say it's always been easy with our brady bunch mixed family... in fact, it was sooo hard at first! However, it worked...we did not and will not ever give up on our "new" family. It has taken us years to blend as we have and it's really a beautiful work in progress.

Tonight, the kids came up to our house. We love having them up! Kayla is now pregnant with baby #2. Maxson will be 14 months old in a few days. Our Collin's family is expanding. Kayla is going to have a little GIRL! Just more and more blessings. Taylor and Spencer came straight from camping. It's always my happiest moments to have the house filled with the kids and now Maxson. I live each day with overwhelming gratitude for these simple moments that I cherish!

HOME from AZ

We just made it home from a great HOT week in AZ. More about this later!

Just unpacking... and thinking how tired I am coming home from VACATION.

I have projects due TODAY for Scrapfest...deadlines always inspire me...wink!

Directions:

1.     Use 12 x 12 black cardstock as base.

2.     Trim white cardstock to 11 ¾ x 11 ¾  inches.  Use a ruler and Tombow Dual Brush Pens to outline the edges.  Adhere to base with Tombow  Stamp Runner Permanent Adhesive.

3.     Trim Sports Edition Shields paper to 10.5 x 10.5 inches and adhere.

4.     Trim On the Edge Griffin paper to 5.5 x 6 inches and adhere to Shields paper leaving a 0.5 inch edge.  Adhere notations journaling die cut beside it.

5.     Adhere Strips of On the Edge die cuts pieces and Posh Cameo strip.

6.     Adhere photos as shown.

7.     Cut out a circle from the Sports Edition Canvas and pop out circle from Posh Die cut sheet.  Adhere title and the circle elements around it using Tombow 3D Foam Squares. Add  buttons and brad.

8.     Adhere Posh Die Cut and wrap twine around one end.  Tuck under the white cardstock. 

9.     Finish off by adding a few more die cuts and chipboard elements.

Instructions:

 

1.  Mat the photo with black cardstock. 

2.  Cut 3 strips of guitars from guitar paper measuring 5 inches long.Corner round edges.  I chose 1 guitar from each strip to colorwith the Tombow markers and blender pens.  Shade as you like add Glitter over them to highlight. 

 

3.  Place the photo in top left corner and then place the 3 strips of guitars under the photo on the right-- spacing to fit the length of photo.  Tuck the center one farther under the photo than the other 2 so as to fit the white journaling square beside it.  The Journaling square is printed using the Haettenschweiler font in orange ink.  This square measures 1 ¼ X 1 ¾”.  Place it under the center strip.

4.  I colored the chipboard letters with the bright colors of the Retro markers.  Then add Stickles glitter to each letter and let dry.

5.  Place the U on top of the photo at bottom right. 

6.  The R is placed on top of the star and add a decorative star brad to top hole of star.  This letter is lifted with a 3d Foam square. Glue the rest of the letters to spell “rock” and I added an additional colored guitar that I cut out  to embellish the C. 

7.  Finally, I used the 2 little words “authentic and Limited edition” and colored them with Tombow markers.  Add them and the other star brad to the top right corner of the photo.

Online TV Network ‘My Craft Channel’ Announced

An online craft tv network called My Craft Channel will be debuting on July 11th, according to an announcement made to Scrapbook Update by channel founder & president Kristine McKay.

My Craft Channel will consist of broadcast-quality streaming video delivered online via Flash. The company is also working on an iPad app to deliver its content to that device, since it is not Flash compatible. Starting on July 11th, the company will be launching a 20 day media blitz in conjunction with Northridge Publishing and Provo Craft, called 20 Cricuts in 20 Days, during which they will reveal all 20 shows that will be featured in their fall line-up.

The new network’s shows will include a wide range of crafts, including sewing,scrapbooking, DIY projects, mixed media, stamping, digital hybrid crafts, photography, and party planning. Most of the network’s planned 20 new shows per week will be filmed in a central studio for the Utah-based company, with a few done on location.

Scrapbook Update can exclusively reveal the first two shows in the My Craft Channel line-up. They will feature Stacy Julian and Teresa Collins, who are both creating 12 episode series for the channel. Julian’s show will be titled “Photo Freedom” and will be based on her book of the same name. Collins’ series will feature paper and home decor projects each week in Collins’ signature style.

My Craft Channel is searching for fresh talent to host segments and join panels on their shows. To be considered, post a video of yourself doing a project tutorial to YouTube and mention My Craft Channel in the video. Send the link of your video to My Craft Channel. Contact information is on the My Craft Channel blog.

 

I am so thrilled that it's finally "announced." I am starting to film this week. I have planned my projects and am just excited to do my very own online tv network shows. THANKS Kristine for this amazing opportunity to share what I love!!!!

4. Adhere envelope (from Notations kit) to layout.  Adhere 4x6 photo next to envelope.  Adhere striped tag (from Notations kit) next.
5, Cut out several small hearts and one larger heart from Notations Journal 12 x 12 paper.
6. Use Tombow dual brush markers to colour in some of the hearts and to outline some of the others.  Adhere to white cardstock using Tombow foam tabs.
7. Adhere three small photos below striped paper tag.
8. Place title in the striped tag space with the larger heart and On the Edge Decorative Brad.

Happy Father's Day-

Loved spending a great day with my husband and kids. Enjoyed a couple of days OFFLINE. Just wanted to quickly say Happy Father's Day and share a few projects.

These projects made by Michelle Van Etten using the TC Sophisticated Cricket cartridge. It was just released a couple of days ago.

I so love that she turned the bird on the cartridge I designed into shrink art and then a necklace.

She also turned the CROWN from the cartridge into a jewelry piece.

FABULOUS Friday-

Today I am meeting with my friends with the TC Stampmaker for a little training and meeting with a group of crafters. Then the rest of the day is BASEBALL time. Yes, I am one of those baseball mom's that loves and watches baseball. Since Zach and Ty have played so for many years, I learned the rules so that I can really know the game better. When baseball season is over and we no longer have games, I go through withdraw. HA! I have talked to a lot of my friends and they said they do the same thing. Nothing like being outside with friends and enjoying watching boys play their heart out!

I had a very special experience this week. I took the album to Brynn's family. I think it's very important to be there for the family AFTER all the things are settling back down. I know that others may quickly forget and move on after a death, but for that family it is a long emotional process. I went over and presented the album to the family. We talked for a long time. They shared their love and special experiences with me. I shared the album that "started" my scrapbook career. Yes, my VERY first project was the album that I made of my mother's life. It was a A-Z album and it's not all all cute or my style. I had NO IDEA what I was doing. However, I put my heart into it. My memories of my mother. For the first time shared this with someone outside of my family. I wanted them to see how it was nothing "beautiful" or spectacular in design...but oh, it was with the memories and how I captured who my mother was. IT is my most prized keepsake of my mother's life. I showed them the album and how I designed it. I could tell that they "got it!". The family is going to do this as a special family project- create a keepsake album of their Brynn. I am going to make sure that I help them in anyway that I can. This week has been another reminder to me of my faith in knowing that death is not the end for us. I know that we will see our loved ones again. I am thankful to know that families truly are eternal. 

Life is truly precious! I love this layout that Julie Jacob created. THESE moments... cherish them. (TC On the EDGE paper (crowns) and blingage)
