I was asked to help organize the 6th Grade Etiquette lunch. I called all the parents, we decorated the school room to look like a beautiful restaurant. We hung lights everywhere, all the tables were beautifully decorated. I took so many photos. They asked the children to come dressed up. Zach wore his suit and tie. The girls wore dresses. The children went to see the play, The Three Muskateers. They returned to school to be served a three course etiquette lunch. Several mother's were the servers for the tables. I volunteered to do this too. It was magical. I had my friend take a photo of Zach and I together. It was the best day!!!!
I came home and went to upload the photos to my computer. They were all gone!!!
My heart sank. I wanted to cry. Looking at the positive, I realized how grateful I was to be THERE and that Zach loves that I help at school. We have the memories in our heart...
I needed to be creative. My friend Donna Downey does her own INSPIRED art event in NC each year. I am so bummed that I cannot go this year. I was asked to decorate something to be raffled off for charity.
It is Donna's canvas camera bag. When it arrived, I honestly had NO idea what to do with it. I emailed and asked what direction to take. I was encouraged to do WHATEVER I felt INSPIRED to do and encouraged to do my own style. Hmmm... that was the GREEN light for me to do...
I spent several hours painting today. Yes, I was loving the process. It took me a while to paint the bag since I kept layering it. I used the TC Shimmerz Pearlz PINK & KRAFT and Claudine's paint (Ranger Industries). I painted and painted. I knew it needed something MORE, so I decided to stamp words on the canvas front.
I stamped the words with NEW ALPHABET stamps that I am loving!!!! I painted inside each letter. I then add my bling to the bag. Accessorize the bag!!!!
I punched a hole in the canvas handle and hung beads and charms. Yes, I couldn't help myself!!!
I wish I could make it to the event. (Donna and Bill were giving me a hard time in France for missing this year. I honestly HATE to miss it!!!) The good news is that everyone at the DD INSPIRED event will get a special TC gift. Also, Stephanie will be there doing TC make n takes at one of the Vendor shops!!!!!!
IS the BIG DAY!
In less than 7 hours- Kayla will be going to the hospital to be induced. She is two weeks early but the baby is big. Tomorrow, Maxson will arrive and bring so much joy into our family. Kayla's mom will be going with them to the hospital for the birth. It brings back memories to me. When I was her age and headed to the hospital to be induced with Taylor. Unfortunately, I was TWO weeks overdue. My mother had flown out from NC to be with us. It was a special and sacred experience. I was terrified. I know that Kayla will be so thankful that her mother will be there for her. (Of course, the father's presence is the MOST important support, but having your mother there is a huge added bonus and so special!)
Last August, on the day Matt and Kayla were married, I was teaching at CKU in Provo (later that night). Now, it is almost 9 months later and tomorrow I will once again be teaching at an CK event. On that same day Matt and Kayla will welcome a child into the world!!!!! I will be teaching a mini book that the talented Jamie Harper had originally designed for CHA Winter. I loved that she had used the CHIC BEBE BOY collection as a FAMILY/HOME album instead of the baby theme-
I loved the concept so much, I asked Jamie for permission to teach it. She is not only so talented but one of my dearest friends. I added several pages to the project and tomorrow night will
TOMORROW is going to be a GREAT day!!!!
