Today I showed how to make paper flowers. They are so easy, but they do take a bit amount of time if you are making 100 of them. Gentry and I made flowers for two days to cover the lampshade on TV today. It takes a while for the video to be available so I will post the actual link later.
It began by using an assortment of papers. I wanted them to coordinate and be similar colors. My latest paper collection,Mr & Mrs was perfect for this project-
Gentry making some flowers. I like to use Ranger's Glossy Accents as my adhesive-
We created a little over 100 Mr & Mrs paper flowers. After you create the flowers- you will want to add some beautiful TC Shimmerz Pearlz.
For the lampshade, I used the color GRAY FLANNEL. It's reminds me of a metallic silver.
Here is an example of WHITE cardstock with the PINK TC Shimmerz Pearlz. So gorgeous!!!!
Here is the PDF of a step by step of how I created the flowers for the lampshade- Download TERESA COLLINS FLOWER LAMPSHADE
We tried to keep our flowers about the same size. I began with a lamp that I purchased at Hobby Lobby. The lamp was brownish and the lampshade was golden tan. I took them apart and outside I spray painted both the base and the lampshade black. After it was dry, I hot glued each flower to the lampshade.
I found it easier to start at the bottom and work my way up.
Part of the creativity is trying to decide which flower to put next to each other. I liked mixing it up and placing the flowers tighter together.
Now, the lampshade is UNIQUE and ready to be displayed. Gentry was so in love with it, she immediately asked if she could keep it and place it in her dorm next year. How could I say no????
After the TV segment, I raced (wearing heels) out the studio to make my Weight Watchers meeting. I realized on the way that I had forgot my weigh in book. So I am home and will go in the AM to weigh in. So I'll report in tomorrow.
HAVE a great MONDAY!
